Alliance and leicester

Hi everyone,

Is there a problem with alliance's online banking today?

When I try to log in it says internet access blocked, after it's had my ID number but before its asked for a pin.

I've rang the number that comes up: 0844 800 11 44 and it's just a robot, it asks for my ID again and my pin then says security verification failed and hangs up

Is there a glitch today or should I be trying to find a real human to speak to?

  • I had a similar problem with my wifes internet banking a while ago. Her access was blocked for no good reason and as she couldn't get past the security questions on the phone we were left with no choice but to go into the branch with proof of ID and they reactivate it for you. I asked why it had been blocked in the first place and was given some BS that incorrect log-in data had been supplied. I personally think this was rubbish and that they just messed up. It was particularly annoying on the phone as they will not answer any questions about the account at all and if you have a considerable sum of money in a savings account as my wife did, there is no way of knowing if it's safe. The whole saga was very worrying for a short period of time and the just plain frustrating.
  • Cheers, I know I haven't blocked myself see which is why I was worried. I've got to go in today or tomorrow anyway so I'll take all my ID just in case.....

Probably blocked by the automatic fraud detection system. I had set up a standing order to a new a/c which was blocked as it was "unusual" and in the process internet access was also blocked. Called them on the phone number that came up on-screen and the block was lifted.
