HSBC - Pay off credit card bill using online banking
Does anyone know how many days it takes for a payment of an HSBC credit card bill from an HSBC current account (via online banking) to clear in the credit card account? I do understand that the banking and credit card sections are segregated, hence I wasn't expecting an instant transfer. Is it the normal BACS 3-day period,…

I went into the branch 30 days ago to complain about some charges. They said they could refund two of them but anything over and above that they would need to refer to their income manager. All fine and dandy but the expected phone call a couple of days later did not materialise. Me being the patient sort waited a few more…

Abbey's 8% New A/c for 12 months
I recently opened an Abbey account and transferred from A&L to get the 8% in credit interest rate on balances up to £2,500 for the first 12 months. I loved the budget planner included in this week's email and it's EXACTLY what I need as a shame-faced budgeting novice who intends to reform in the New Year. Just an idea to get around bank charging....
It's simple, why not use your main a/c for your wages to be paid in and then pay your bills manually with cash. That was the old way of doing things before direct debits became the norm! Any purchases you need to make only get paid by cash. That way you cannot go overdrawn as you can see where your money is going without…

Direct Debit - Reasonable notice to change date of collection
How prominent should the change of date be for a Direct Debit? I have been receiving a monthly invoice every month for the last 9 years, usually arriving during the first few days of the month.
