Budget planner for Mac users - any tips?

I loved the budget planner included in this week's email and it's EXACTLY what I need as a shame-faced budgeting novice who intends to reform in the New Year. The problem is, I don't have Excel and I use a Mac with OS 9. Does anyone know of good budgeting freeware or shareware (or heaven forbid even paid-for!) for the Mac OS 9? I have a newer machine with OS X on it so that would do at a pinch but I'm ideally looking for vintage.
Any suggestions which would help my entry into budgeting rehab gratefully received.
Merry Christmas

Hi Juliette,
It's been a while since I used OS9, but remember it did come with an Excel-style spreadsheet in its office-style package. Do you have that loaded?0 -

No, unfortunately this is a refurb mac and doesn't have all the original OS9 features. I really want an idiot-proof dedicated budget application though, I'm not sure I could handle a spreadsheet!0 -
Try using Google Documents - the spreadsheet one? Upload the XLS to GD, and edit it online? (I'm assuming there's no complicated stuff in the spreadsheet that GD will barf on.)Conjugating the verb 'to be":

I use Moneydance for my Mac. Have a look at https://www.moneydance.com and you'll a link for Mac OS 10.2 and older to download a trial version. Works well for keeping track of expenditure, although not as good as MS Money, still does the job well enough.0
