Hi, this is the Daily Thread for05/12/06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
Happy Birthday Queenie :bdaycake:

not many people around today yet.. dont blame them, today i have a plumber coming round YIPPEE at last, our boiler wasnt working properly so got on the phone and called someone to come look at it.. he did and he said the boiler fine its the valve near the tank and i cant fix that you need a plumber even though he was a heating engineer i needed a plumber, so eventually ive got a plumber to come round today who isnt getting out my house till its sorted, fed up plugging different heating appliances on to keep house warm.... AND also my poor wee car is poorly, the fan stopped working still got heating no fan to demist the windows etc, so i was being technical minded and looking for the fuse box in the car, could i find it no but with some help from back home in peterborough found it, oh comes home at this point takes over and now my Power steering has gone lol, looks like in looking for the fuse for the fan he might have disabled the power steering, so wee car in to the hospital (garage) on thursday morning. These things sent to try us..
Apart from all that got oh's nans birthday today she 89 and in a local home so we going round there late afternoon well he might be i might be holding plumber hostage:D
right im off now to have a cuppa and chill for a wee while before the day gets any worse hee heeThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -

Good Morning All :santa2:
Still raining here - horrid weather like the bottom of a window cleaners bucket.
Back to the orthodontist today for DS1(12) to have new twin blocks fitted. He's angling to have the rest of the afternoon off. The appointment is at 1.40. Hmmm.... we shall have to see about that one.
DD2(9) got her 600m swimming badge last night. Flippin' heck, I think she must have webbed feet. I'd have trouble swimming a length! Mind you the family joke is I'd never drown because my bum has a buoyancy all of it's own (sadly true  )
We had HM apple pie last night. My Mum gave me a bag of windfalls last week and I just got round to preparing them yesterday. DEEE - liciousBoth kids had school dinners yesterday, so pudding after tea was a definite luxury, but well worth it. There's still a couple of slices left over, so I'll have some cold after lunch with a lump of cheese (which is the traditional way to eat apple pie in these parts).
I'm going to have a lazy day today *who said for a change?* I've had a bit of a cold which I just can't shake. Kipping on the sofa doesn't help, but as my cough sounds like a barking seal I thought it was pointless keeping OH awake as well.
Nice hot bath next I think. Then make sure the kids are sorted for school. After that I don't know
Have a lovely day everyone, and try to stay warm and dry.

Morning all!
Have a great day! Had a good day yesterday - training course about Incapacity Benefit, then finished my christmas shopping (apart form a couple of Internet purchases). Bought myself a winter coat and a pair of long boots. Not very MS, but they's classics so will last me for years. Bought DD some very fancy make-up with Boots points, and a pile of reduced books in WHS, using a £5 voucher.
Got home to find that a huge parcel had been delivered - about 80cm square, and quite thin, The accompanying letter makes us none the wiser, so will open it later in case it's a present I ordered and can't remember! It looks like some kind of freebie, though.Went to DD's guide carol concert last night. She did a reading and was very relaxed and read well. Not sure I could have done that at her age.DS came 11th in his year in cross country trials, so just missed being picked for the squad. He's first reserve, though, so is likely to be in, as there's always someone off at this time of year.Today I'm in w*** for a couple of hours then back home as out Christmas lunch is in my local! Will be able to have a glass of something festive, and the children can get me if they need me.Must dash, need to make myself beautiful!Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
