    Hi quasar

I thought those knives that are meant to be great for frozen food were too flexible for me. Also, when I used them, they seemed to tear the food not leave nice slices of meat or bread. When I returned them, the woman on the desk said a load had been returned as people just didn't like them. You get to keep the paring knife though. Also, I'm sure I've seen them else wherewhere for less money - just can't find them ATM. If you are happy with them, then that's OK - they just weren't for me.

As for the spag bol - i usually use just decent mince (I had an Italian friend who told me how to make the best bolognaise :D) I only had 1 lb of meat before I thought of using the casserole up, so used some soya mice , flavoured with boullion, lea and perrins, and gravy browning :D

    Hi Everyone,

Not had a chance to read the thread today properly.

Catzine - Your cookies look lovely. Think they would go down well, with a nice cuppa!

Have just got back, after spending the evening with my friend. We ended up going around tescos and getting all the bargins.

Ended up with : Fresh herbs :Basil, mint, Lemon Thyme and Basil (for 5p per pack) (gone into freezer), 2 bunches organic carrots (12p each), 2 packs runner beans (12p each), 2 fresh cream apple turnovers (9p for the pack), tuna and cucumber sandwiches (21p), Ham and cheese sandwiches for OH (21p), Tesco finest coleslaw (17p), two jacket potatoes with cheese (19p - into the freezer for Thursday) and a fresh fruit salad (25p). And a 100g jar of half decaf gold blend for £1.12.

Must get ready for bed now, as dreaded w**k tomorrow.

    Goodnight all ... POwie

P.S Queenie - By the time you read this, hope you had a nice birthday :D

Catznine: they look *lovely*.... i didn't realise you could decorate em, i thought they were best eaten plain!

I think i figured out why you get so many from one batch. I made the mistake of giving OH the box they were in this afternoon. He finally pronounced around 8.30pm tonight (via MSN, our version of shouting from one room to another, being deaf, it makes it kinda hard!):
him: "ooooops, out of cookie error"
me: " you ate that entire box of cookies?!"
him: "usr/bin/cookiejar --count ... less than 2 cookies"
    me: "two cookies left?"
    him: "yep. want one?"

so i've promised to make them again. with nutmeg this time. (although not till the weekend). LOL. might even decorate them this time.

today has gone very well in terms of getting-stuff-done. My christmas stockings/sacks are finished, and just waiting to be loaded up with some silly goodies, i've finished the "frame" for my quilt (i've done some patchwork, and i wanted a frame of the same material as the backing around the patchwork to make it a lil bigger) so its all ready to be tacked together with the filling and backing - probably tomorrow night - and then it'll be quilting it on the machine, probably on friday. I'm determined to have all the presents made up (with the exception of food) by close of play sunday. it finally feels like the end is in sight, ya know??

anyway i've taken pics of everything so will post links at some point... until then i shall just sneak this entry under the radar of "today" and post afresh in the morning.

    hope everyone sleeps well!
