MSE Parents Club Part 5

Options
This is a continuation of the Parents Club part 4 which can be found HERE. Part 4 was eventually closed due to the length of it :)

All parents are welcome, mums & dads with children of any age. We're also happy to help people who just have questions about kids, even if you don't have any yet.

This is a place of mutual support, so feel free to ask and answer whatever you want. Feel free also just to moan if that will help!

If you want to put details of your kids and their ages in your signature then this helps us keep track of all of the little ones, but this is not obligatory.

DH as had me turning the house upside down for a late lost library book, I check her book bag and it's in there grrrrrrrrrrr, will have a weeks worth of fines on it.

    Night Night everyone.

    MDW

P.S. Not had chance to catch up as you all talk too much when I'm at work.

Here we don't get fined for late childresn books, provided that they have been checked out using the child's library card. Perhaps it's worth checking your library's policy?

Trumpette socks - I would love a set of pixie or susie Q trumpettes for LO, but their sizes are very small and they don't appear to do them in toddler sizes :mad: I like the white sock with the coloured 'shoe'.

Teething - happened agian here and that's 2 nights of crying in her sleep, ending up in our bed and tossing and turning all night so we don't get any sleep  Not much seems to help and HV is out of ideas. I have everything under the sun to try and help, and just keeping trying them in rotation until one helps:rotfl:She's having a nap now (thankfully).

question: should we take LO's car seat abroad to use in a hire car?

    taking it -
Pros: we know how to fit it, we know it's not been in an accident
cons: costs to take it on the flight, might get lost/damaged

    hiring one -
Pros: don't have to transport ours, no chance of it getting lost
Cons:might not be one we are familiar with re: fitting, don't know it's history, costs money, might not be 100% clean or at least cleanish!

    opinions please?!

Check airline policy to see if they allow you to take it in the cabin - do NOT let it get put in the hold of the plane! What country you going to? I think that might affect my view on it :) Countries like say Germany and Denmark or Norway I'd have no problem hiring from as rules there are pretty strict - places like Spain and Portugal I'd be very doubtful...

We are going to Malta - just checked the airline policy and they aren't allowed in the cabin, so we'll be hiring one!!! The way they handle the bags I'd hate to let them near my babies life saving equipment (also known as a car seat ;) ) Thanks MrsT

    Morning all

I think Kai is finally realising that 6am makes for a tired mummy and 7am-8am is much better:D

I am just looking for material to make a baby wrap....I looked back when I was pregnant but never got round to getting any...and then when he was born I was really put off by the weight of him, and as he has gron just carrying him in my arms makes them ache, so went completely off the idea, but now he is getting a bit bigger, I think I would like to try him in the rucksack carry so am trying to research the best material to use.....any ideas?

    Morning all.
Well we experienced our first 'bad' night here with DS2, he's come down with the snuffles and woke up at 1am, 3.30am and 5.30am, i'm shattered!
I suppose I cant moan cos he's been really good for the last 18 weeks.

My cot has finally came :j so we are going to put that up today hopefully, think we gonna have to put it in our room until he is over all this cos I dont want to disturb DS1.

Im sooooooo tired, I cant be bothered to do much today, we were supposed to be getting a new fridge freezer delivered today but the people rang and siad it wont be till tommorrow morning now, i'm well pished off cos I have not been able to to a proper shop in 2 weeks cos we have had no freezer

Hello, just popped on as I haven't been on in a while. I haven't been online in general recently, as I don't feel like I fit it anywhere anymore. If it wasn't for Elliot, I'd have nothing to talk about. Generally feeling quite down, and alone. Being a mom isn't all fun and games for me sadly.
