    Just wanted to say Thanks for Fritha for organising today - was very useful and I might look at getting one of the Wrap Slings once I've saved up a bit!

    No probs :-) If you'd like one like mine (Wrapsody stretchy wrap) I have a 10% off code for the lady I bought it from :-) (It's a non-running out one so there's no rush btw)

    Did you buy the liquid Anbesol? It really is worth a try. I find that the gels just end up in a ball rolling about their mouth. The Anbesol goes where I want it to go IYSWIM

    yes we have that after you recommended it. :D It's definately better than the gels, but not quite as good as calpol or nurafen for babies ;) I'm never sure if i've put enough on though....

    I know that feeling - Benjamin generally ignores me if I have been out for a while...he literally won't look at me the cheeky little monster :rolleyes: Daddy gets big smiles and chuckling!

    lol:rotfl: perhaps it's because you smell of alcohol and the pub:eek::D;):rotfl: I might be in trouble for that one!!!

    Elle - if we could choose we would put Benjamin's bedtime at about 8pm so we can have some couple time each evening. Benjamin had other ideas though and decided he wanted to be in bed by 7pm every night :rolleyes:

    We wake up at 5am most mornings here too (used to be 4.30am) but I class that as nighttime still so we have a feed and I put him back down in his cot.

    Can I ask the BLWers what they gave baby for breakfast? I am fine with other meals and Benjamin does like toast but it's not quite the same as porridge and yoghurt or mashed banana :confused:

    what about some mashed banana on toast? a bit messy but very tasty

    LOL SS... I have some non maternity shorts on... dunno about prematernity clothes - I hate the look of my muffin top :( Will hate to try and make it to the gym this week!
    The child sleeps - she's been grinchy and moaning - wonder if the milk I got isn't quite enough to fill her up? I might need to get some stage 2 I guess... :confused:

    she may just be adjusting. I asked the HV about follow on milk the other day and she didn't think it was necessary and more of a marketing ploy aimed at mothers who were switching from bf to ff at the 6 m mark. Did she drain her bottle? if LO does that then we usually offer her another oz or so. We still have erratic feeding patterns here, even at 6 1/2 m and now weaning has made it worse:rolleyes: I haven't used stage 2 milk - but I'm sure someone on here does/did. perhaps they can help?
    It is a koo di seat harness (one of those ones you kind of tie the baby to the back of the chair with). It's not as good as a real high chair, in that it doesn't have a tray, and doesn't raise baby up to table height either, but for an "emergency" one I can live with that. She is very comfy in it, and it folds down small (it has a bag as part of it, so you just fold it back into the bag and it has a clippy bit so you can clip it onto the changing bag/buggy). And you can put it through the washing machine, but the die runs, so now Izzy has lots of pink vests. :cool:

    I'm not sure how secure it would be with a bigger baby though - Izzy isn't much of a houdini baby yet, so I'm not really on the right wave length to see what she would be able to climb out of, but I did get the feeling that might be a worry when she is bigger - will have to wait and see really!

    I keep trying to get DH to do bathtime, but he had one bad bathtime where she cried lots at him (she doesn't like being got dressed afterwards) and now he won't do it :confused:. Even though she does it to me every time too.

    thanks ladybird. The no tray doesn't bother us as we have a tripp trapp, but I'm not sure I like the idea of her escaping! I've looked at some reciews online now too and apparently it doesn't fit all seats - esp those with high back, which our dining room chairs have! :rotfl:

    Can anyone else recommend a brand to look at????? thanks x

    Hello, just popped on as I haven't been on in a while. I haven't been online in general recently, as I don't feel like I fit it anywhere anymore. If it wasn't for Elliot, I'd have nothing to talk about. Generally feeling quite down, and alone. Being a mom isn't all fun and games for me sadly.

    Now now, i'm sure you have lots of interesting things to say. I'm the one people point at and think is boring :rolleyes: :D so stick around and chat :)
    MOTM - Glad to hear 16yo apologised. I don't think you are a wimp at all - I am just Victorian mom ;):D

    11 year old has apologised as well. They will both wash and dry up this evening on their own. It's about as tough as I get where they are concerned, but we've had good talks and they are disappointed that I am disappointed and that's enough for me to know they didn't mean it. I think with a bit of talking and airing concerns, which have hopefully been put to bed, they understand that Dad needs to do his own thing too, as long as it doesn't involved any single ladies :o

    I'm still a wimp though - I think that, even if you don't.

    It's okay to be Victorian, as long as you don't dress like it. Just think of your childens friends giving them a ribbing about your headwear :o

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Well the weather looks pretty nice, so we are going to go out and get some ideas for......Christmas :cool: If they behave i'll be nice and buy them an ice cream or something, on top of everything else :rolleyes:
    Finally, I said about the college last night. The lady we spoke to was most unhelpful :confused: and asked us to contact them again once we knew 16yo GCSE results. 16yo is still unsure, so it didn't encourage her alot. We'll be seeing someone from adult learning & local volunteering bureau next week, so that will be interesting to see. Not got around to anything like St Johns yet. I'm also going to get her to ask at the local shop, as they need a part time worker for 8 hours a week. Not sure if they want 18+, but no harm in asking, especially as they have seen madam grow up over the years, so we are all familiar.
    Hope everyone has a nice day :j
    Whenever I see 'sling meet' or 'slingy', and now you have said 'slingy ladies', I keep singing in my head, Beyonce's 'Single Ladies', but as 'Slingle Ladies' :confused:
    Maybe you could adopt the tune as your theme? :o
    Or maybe not, the song drives me round the bend :D
    *looks it up on youtube*.... oh I know the one! *wanders off singing all the slingle ladies* :T lol (doesn't it sound like she actually sings slingle too!)
    I can't stand that song, I really cannot. I'm just glad I mentioned it on here and not at home, or i'd be subjected to that nonsense :o:D
    New day and I'm still annoyed at myself about Keira's teeth! I just wonder if it's more awkward to eat if your front teeth don't touch? I'll be punishing myself about this for ages and If her adult teeth come in bad, then that'll be it!
    I sent off a message to Toothsmith, so hopefully he can ease my worries! It's no big deal right now I guess, but when she smiles it kinda looks like she is gurning or clenching her jaw with the way the fangs sit on top of each other.
    Just doing my hair then we are off to the bank and I said I'd take her to Mcdonalds for lunch. I blow every chip she eats because of the salt lol, blow blow the salt awaaaaaay
    I am just looking for material to make a baby wrap... he is getting a bit bigger, I think I would like to try him in the rucksack carry so am trying to research the best material to use.....any ideas?
    I think a heavier weight cotton or linen is best, but leave it with me and I'll look it up for you :-)
    Oh sweerheart *hugs* I've got to go give Celia lunch but I'm only a pm away if you want to talk. I do second going to your gp, they put me on fluxoetine and it really helped me just to cope with day to day stuff. A good gp will prescribe it hand in hand with counselling as well (which you can do on it's own if you prefer), your problems will still be there correct but how you deal with them and how much it effects you can be eased with meds and/or counselling.
    Bitesize shredded wheat or weetabix softened with milk, crumpets, fruit, I have recipes for wakey wakey cakey and porridge pancakes somewhere (nicked from babyledweaning.com!) if you want :-)
    Sami:
    Yours is a stretchy wrap though right? Once they get a bigger stretchys aren't suseparator.gifpportive enough really, it's also comfier to have bigs on your back (or so I've been reliably informed!)
    Mines woven not stretchy ;) I had him on my back when we've tried it and it was comfy but frankly at 2ish stone with fully functioning legs he can damn well walk :p :rotfl:
    we were advised to only use stage 2 if after having used stage1 for a while they stopped going 4hours (or however long they usually go) but they didn't want more milk at a feed does that make sense??
    we've got a boster seat in this style we take it to family who don't have a highchair but its not very portable as its a big piece of plastic and they need to be good sitters as no back on it, we also have one this style but have never used it (must get it on ebay!) it doesn't fit all tables and they have to be a good solid table otherwise I'd fear tipping :eek:
    when we went skiing Chris was 11mths so good at holding himself up so we took our harness & reins as they can be attached to a normal chair
    THIS one looks good for a youngish baby though..
    I'll shut up now :p
    Since when? Last time I went with her, maybe 2/3months ago, it was covered in salt (not to forget the grease!) I prefer Burger king, more expensive but tastes better, but it's only maccy d's near the bank. I don't even know why I buy her a happy meal, as she eats half the chips, drinks the drink, and takes the toy, leaves everything else!
