LOL SS... I have some non maternity shorts on... dunno about prematernity clothes - I hate the look of my muffin top
Will hate to try and make it to the gym this week!
The child sleeps - she's been grinchy and moaning - wonder if the milk I got isn't quite enough to fill her up? I might need to get some stage 2 I guess...
She is going to take a couple of days to adjust probably. I think the general consensus is to try and avoid going onto stage 2 milks if possible......I know my kids didn't do well with them at all, constipation/diarrhoea, upset tummies, niggly, grumpy and for some reason actually wanting to feed more oftenWhen I went back t stage 1 they 'recovered'. Maybe have a word with your HV she should be able to advise about whether to try a stage 2 milk or not:)

Keely, you need us. Keep posting your random thoughts and hopefully you can get to the bottom of them. I find it helps me to just post nonesence and it keeps me sane. For now have a (((huge hug))) (sorry, no ice cream)0

Hey Keely! I was thinking about you the other day. Is Elliot coming up for 1 soon?
I think the reason that lots of people post here is to keep themselves sane so ramble away
I love your new avvy!

question: should we take LO's car seat abroad to use in a hire car?
taking it -
Pros: we know how to fit it, we know it's not been in an accident
cons: costs to take it on the flight, might get lost/damaged
hiring one -
Pros: don't have to transport ours, no chance of it getting lost
Cons:might not be one we are familiar with re: fitting, don't know it's history, costs money, might not be 100% clean or at least cleanish!
opinions please?!
I'm having this dilema too! we're not hiring a car but will be having to go from airport to challet (3hrs ) I really need to speak to MIL to get the proper details
Keely - please please please talk to your doctor or HV you have PND symptoms and its not likely to just go away on its own. Elliot won't be taken away from you.
I know of a woman how had PND so bad she went completely loopy and had to be sectioned (this is RARE) she didn't have her children taken away.
What you are going through is common and can be 'fixed' but only if you get proper help, please seek that help, I know its terrifying but you'll feel so much better onces its out there xxx:grouphug:0 -
Mel have a look on http://www.thebabywearer.com/ if you scroll down a bit there is a section about making your own wrap0

I don't think you need to worry about losing Elliot, although I can understand why you feel that way. No-one has mentioned me having to give LO up, and I've had very severe mental health problems in the past.
Can you think of anything that would help you? Would medication help do you think? What about having someone to talk to? Or is it more a case of having purpose - would you feel better if you had more time with other people? What about working part-time?
Are you in the NCT? We have absolutely loads of NCT things going on around here, for babies and older kids, and they all run year round.
Moving house would solve half my worries, but that's not possible right now. Doubt medication would do anything for me, my problems would still be here. I'm going back to college at some point, when I will have more time to study. Elliot's too time consuming right now for work or the studying really.
You know what I really miss about living here? Not having a garden. I'd love to go out my back door and sit in my own garden, no one else walking past causing grief etc.
I'm not sure about NCT in my area? Only know about surestart.
Yes, Elliot will be 1 soon just under a month. The year has flown by.

morning all.
We had a lie in till 11 and just had bath time. Now its feeding time at the zoo!
Elle, my hubby just started a new job and its at a time when the firm has been making people redundant so he's really trying to prove himself there. He brings home work every night and sits at the computer until about 2am. He's also roped me into proof reading his work so I was up till 1:30am this morning. When he walks in I try to give Leila to him but he wants to get out of his work clothes and hae dinner understandably. He then takes her for a little while when I eat and then he gets back to the work again. I just hope that it doesnt go on long term as he looks frazzled.
Leila was going to bed at 1:30 for the first 4 weeks. I have slowly brought bed time back so that last night it was 10:30. I think 10pm will work for us at the moment especially as when I go back to work I wont get home till 6. She wakes at 5am for a quick feed no matter what time she goes to bed!Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
I wondered where the quote button had gone! Ok, this is going to be a bit weird:
Sami:I've seen pics of 5yo in them, Chris has been in mine a few times and likes it (although I'm not a fan of the weight!
Yours is a stretchy wrap though right? Once they get a bigger stretchys aren't supportive enough really, it's also comfier to have bigs on your back (or so I've been reliably informed!)
3:I thought it looks similar to yours, but not as stiff! I think i'd prefer it stiffer, the head bit that can stand up if asleep, or fold down if awake!
Also, although my friend hadn't really used it, I washed it and it looks a bit faded after one wash - but the cow print is cool! OH used it on Sunday to take her out (to some nerdy electronics shop!), but did it inside out so it was plain black!
Himself turns ours round too! Feel free to have a play with mine next time, I've been talking to someone about getting funding to set up a sling library as well hopefully I can get that going :-)
3:One of the ladies today had her 3 year old on her back, and little baby on the front! The 3yo was tiny, but it still must have been some weight!! I've not used mine much, but walked too far in it last week and felt 38weeks pregnant again!
Did you have her high enough up? You should be able to bend down to kiss their head easily (awww) Were the straps tight enough over your shoulders? And spread out well over your back? If I'm feeling Celia's weight it tends to be one of those tings that's the problem!
Oh and that lady also carried the 3 year old while she was heavily pregnant with the tiny! She's very cool!
MFD:I had a hangover so I couldn't come today
tut tut mfd! ;-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0
