it will be cheaper to do that than to see through the rest of your contract if you have a fair bit of time left to go.
I was thinking the same thing but knowing Vodafone id spend money on the 08xx calls and they'd find another way out, like "September was greatly above the average for the previous 9 months so we've decided to take an average and its below 10%" I dont trust them 1 bit!0 -
Am I missing something? The clause specifically only mentions the monthly line rental being increased, not per-minute call charges?
The template that i sent is the same template that everyone else sent and we all have been told we can cancell in sep and the the last bill will be october, the call charges have been increased numbers such as 0800, 0870 0845Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -

I know, but the basis of them saying 'if your bill increases by >10%' doesn't seem to be the clauses that you're arguing your case on, which specifically only mentions monthly tariffs.
Once you understand which terms they're basing this on you'll be able to argue it better. They seem to be saying that if your actual bill increases (presumably by calculating your typical pre-change costs for calls to those types of numbers against the actual charge for these numbers for the month post-change) then they'll let you cancel, but it's impossible to make that comparison now because the change hasn't happened. Just increasing the call charges doesn't breach the terms you listed (i.e. be able to cancel now) as call charges aren't a monthly tariff.
So what clauses are Vodafone admitting they might be breaking?
Seems open to be taken advantage of - I make very few calls, so if I've only spent an average of 50p on those types of numbers then if I make 56p of calls next month then they'll let me cancel?0 -
have spoken to citizens advice and a legal person and there is nothing that can be done apparently, if your bill goes over 10% then you can cancel otherwise its tough, you have to live with it0

I had a very interesting conversation with vodafone earlier on. tele convo went something like this: -
oh mrs ****** as you have been a good customer of ours, then we will offer you another contract for a family member for a very good deal
I laughed and told them no chance as i was aiming on cancelling my contract with them anyway once my bill increases by 10% due to the increasing call charges.
but this person knew nothing about any call charge increases and aksed how i knew about them. :rotfl: i advised her of the newspaper and vodafones own mailing system. she then advised i would hear from someone else sometime soon as she didnt know about this!!!
i now await a further call to see what they say. hopefully, yes you can cancel your contract without charges!
typical vodafone - customers are unhappy, staff no fcuk all and life goes on!!!0 -

we are takin advantage of vodafone? do u work for themBetter to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
Interesting conversation with a vodafone CSA today i stated clause 7 and the breach of call charges and he said due the EU rules they have changed there contracts come sep 1st they prices will be going up on the 08 numbers and he agreed it was a breach of contract he said i was to send a 30 day termination notice and it would be cancelled without penatly and we get to keep our handsetBetter to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0

If they are in breach of contract there is no requirement for 30 days notice.
The termination is effective immediately
Another example of Vodafone not knowing their own contract termsbaldly going on...0 -
I called them again they said we have to give them 30 day notice cancellation, she stuck to her guns about it, they also played the " we didnt get ur letter u sent even though it was registered " so now im transfered through to a manager ( im on the fone as i type this ) the manager said the same thing we didnt receive ur letter, i said i could send u a letter again and u could deny getting this, i said i want refunded for the letter i sent b4 , she said we can arrange that to, so it looks like im going to have to send another registered letter, hope thats helped u guysBetter to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0
