Blame the builders of your house for cutting corners. You will be stuck with that charge for as long as your in that house.

Rang then Friday and apparently CS confirmed Electricity Online Extra Saver 2, but on 'My account' it shows as EOES

I have just arranged for my parenst to switch onto Energy Online Extra Saver yesterday. They were quoted a discount of 23% in Scottish Power region which matches up with an earlier post of discounts after 27th February. Their account now says Energy Online Extra Saver - no mention of 2.

They were on Staywarm but just got notice in that monthly payments were to rsie £30pm to £122.50. They must be classed as medium or high users? On the Online tariff it was going to be £87.32pm. I also asked if their Staywarm tariff would be reduced after the announcements a few days ago and was told not for this year.

Is it possible as version 2 was the current one that anyone switching to this tariff would automatically be put on this one?

I was told the discount for Scottish Power area is 23% which matches an earlier post.

Before commenting - I will check the discount rates tomorrow and then come back so I don't give out any incorrect information :)

Despite my account NOT showing 2; I've received a letter from PG with new prices and checked against EnergyHelpline website for product EOES 2 and the prices are the same. Therefore I believe we are paying the cheapest price even though our accounts show EOES. Double check you PG account just in case ;)

My parents just received their letter to confirm their new tariff. It seems they have been put onto the Energy Online Extra Saver (not v2).

    Gas is 3.737 then 2.972
    Electricity is 18.62 then 10.09

    Total discount is 23%.

According to energyhelpline.com EOES v2 is

    Gas 3.235 then 2.574

    Electricty 17.620 then 9.540

    Total discount is 18%.

It would appear that they would save another £40 by being on EOES v2. As they only switched last week why weren't they put on this?
