Can't answer that 100% but they probably will. I will update you on that when the announcement is made.0 -
Thanks for this - this was the kick up the backside I needed!
Have just got off the phoned - my attempt at registering for the online discount last May but hadn't been applied. I had been receiving 9% discount for paying by direct debit. Was told the Energy Online Extra Saver was the best tariff for me at the moment saving an extra 6% I think (around £45 discount) - beating the Energy Guarantee (£33 discount).
I was advised that customers would be informed of the new rates in a few weeks and could change to a different tariff then too as I was informed that the Energy Guarantee may be better then.0 -

Energy guarantee will not work out cheaper then the extra saver your currently on. Even when the new prices come out.0 -
Thanks to OP and other contributors. A small reduction still annoys given that prices should be coming down much more! Aah well, watch the next few weeks and then time to make the move or stay decision!!0

As already mentioned previously there has been no annoucnement by powergen on price reductions yet.
These are simply retention products until this happens.0 -
I've discovered another way of making some serious energy savings. I live in a 50+ year old house and of course I always knew about cavity wall insulation, but I thought it would be hugely expensive and would take a long time to pay for itself. I had also heard that some people had had some problems with house ventilation after having it installed. But I found I could apply for a grant-aided installation through my energy supplier, Powergen, and it's not means tested at all. A man came to do a survey and gave me a quote there and then, which was only £330 for my quite large detached house. He says it will pay back in less than 2 years and there are no problems with ventilation as the insulation is wool. He also surveyed my loft and said the insulation was inadequate. The quote includes the discount and they take care of claiming it from the govt. I am well pleased, but annoyed at how much we could have saved by having it done years ago. Apparently the effect is instantly noticeable - I'll let you know when it has been done.0

I've just changed over to this tariff from the Winter saver one and have just received a letter today saying "Thank you for changing energy products etc.... AS your gas supply is maintained by an Independant Gas Transporter instead of National Grid(formerly Transco) it costs us more to supply. We like to be open to our customers so don't hide these costs in our unit prices and only pass them on to the customers they affect.
An additional charge or £42 per year(inc VAT) will be added to your bill to cover these costs. This will be split across the year and works out at less than 12p aday.
We've included our new T&C's . Please let us know within the next 14 days if you change your mind"
My discounts are 3% Direct Debit,3% Dual Fuel,3% Dual Fuel Direct Debit & 15.20% Energy Online Extra Saver.
My Gas/Elec bill is only about £400 per year, so its got me thinking if this is a good move for me ?0 -
Just rang them up, I'm on the EnergyOnline Winter Saver tariff, in the Seeboard area and get a 16% discount. Asked about the EnergyOnline Extra Saver and was told that I could get a 20.7% discount, would I like it!!! Err yes please :-)
Thanks guys, only nice to claw some money back :-)0
