    Hi

Just managed to see this thread and we've been with Powergen since we moved into our property about 5 yrs ago. Checking online, it's on the Energy Saving plan at the moment, unit prices this is for North west:

    Electricity
Normal units up to 900 kWhs
    17.934 pence
    Normal units
    9.9015 pence per kWh

    Gas
Normal units up to 4572 kWhs
    3.23505 pence
    Normal units
    2.57355 pence per kWh

Doing the switch product online none of the other options seem to be cheaper than what I'm on, do I take it that you need to phone up to get all the other options?

    Thanks

    hi golly99,
just to let you know that if you are interested in paying by direct debit and recieving your bills online then Powergen's Energy Online Extra Saver 3 would be cheapest. Your unit prices would remain the same as they are now but you could get up to 20.7% discount off your quarterly statements. I'm on that now and have seen really big saving (last quarters saving was £45.oo).

Give them a ring on 0800 195 8575 and ask for the unit prices and discounts for this product. If you're not interested in paying by Direct Debit then this product is not for you.

    hope this helps!

(a message for everyone- give your supplier a call every 5 months to make sure you are on the best/cheapest product and on the most upto date version!!!!)

Dellxps - that sounds very worthwhile I'll look into that. Presuming if you do a direct debit you can just pay the quarterly amount rather than the monthly? Will also have a quick look on any comparison sites for anything cheaper while I'm at it.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks dellxps, I will give them a phone just now. :)
  • Changed to EOESv3 for a small saving of £59 per year (although it says on the comparison site that it is only available for new customers).

Reduced d/d by £5 a month for a saving of £60 per year as I am usually in credit (even in the winter). It's now £80 per month for gas/electric.

Not bad for a few minutes on the phone!

hi all, glad to hear you're all saving a bit,

unfortunately the energy online extra saver 3 can only be paid by fixed monthly dd, a pain i know but you get a big discount for it.

    :rotfl:
  • You have to be carefull with these people....rang customer services back in May to transfer to EOLV2 and went from 11% discount to 19%... rang customer services today on 0800 195 8575 and a very nice lady answered but did not seem very switched on (pardon the pun) she thought i was on 11% still. After some discussion she gave me a different free phone number 0800 1955556, i think this put me through to accounts and he was able to work things out precisely, i am on 20% now from V2....unfortunately for me to go on V3 i would have to move to a fixed payment option and on my present spend would save me 35p per year....i am all for saving but declined the offer:confused:

will keep watching out for V4!!!! :T
