No reply to the email after 1 week so I phoned this morning. CS agreed that v2 would be cheaper by £41.25 so it's been changed over. I asked them to back date it to 2 weeks ago as they should have been put on that in the first place.
Still showing Enery Online Extra Saver - no mention of v2 at present but will check later to see if it has changed.
It won't show what version you're on on your online account. It's the same if your on a capped tariff, all it will say is capped even though there's been 12 versions up till now.0 -

thanks for confirming that. I seemed to remember being quoted a 19% discount when i changed tarrifs a couple of months ago, but i must have got it wrong
just spoken to Powergen again, much more helpful person this time. They said that we're on the best tarrif at 16% discount with Winter Saver, as the Energy Online Extra Saver scheme would only give us a discount of 11%0 -

Standard Energy Online is 11%, Extra Saver is 15% in the East Mids0 -
Just to say a big thank you to everyone who has posted on this thread!:D After reading about the Energyonline Extra Saver I phoned up Powergen last night to ask about the best deal for me? She put me on the online deal and happily told me I got a 9% discount for paying both gas & elec by direct debit and for managing my account on line I would get an extra 2%! Yippee......an extra 2% discount!
After reading this thread I still wasn't sure I was getting best value for money
I have just phoned Powergen again (got thru after only 3 rings!!!!!!) and spoke to a very nice man about version 1 and version 2 of the online extra saver. He went through the figures again, said version 2 was available in my area (North West) and put me on that version as from yesterday. He looked at his chart and told me the saving was 26%..............yes 26%! One free phone call and my discount has jumped from 11% to 26%. Unbelievable that the lady didn't know about version 2 last night (or did she? ahem, cough!). (I also asked about the IGT and that doesn't affect me either).
Thank you so much to everyone again!:j
Best wishes & kind regards x0 -
Cal1, I had a great result also. I have just switched to the energy online extra saver scheme so my discount has now risen from 11% to 19% and I've reduced my monthly DD by £30 as of 1 May, as my account has a very 'healthy' credit.

I've just had a quick read through this thread, after some problems I noticed with my tariff.... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=403817
But the weird thing is that I have been assured by Powergen that I am definately on Energy Online Extra Saver V2... but the tariff rates are totally different from those listed earlier in the thread... have Powergen changed them again.
My V2 rates are as follows:-
Electric
15.96 and 8.38
Gas
3.559 and 2.83
whereas earlier in the thread the tariffs were quoted as:-
Electric
17.020 and 9.100
Gas
3.081 and 2.451
Now whilst I currently pay less for my electricity based on the first tariff most of my fuel costs seem to go in Gas (especially during the winter). The person I spoke to a moment ago could not find the tariff prices I quoted him... I even read him the let that Powergen apparently sent out.
He also checked the tariff for new customers and I even made him enter the V2 tariff again onto my account to see if it recalculated different.... but no... just the same rates.
I'm very confused by this now0 -
Just checked on Energy helpline and their V2 tariffs seem to be lower still.... lower than thos quoted by other customers anyway...
These prices include VAT at 5%
3.235p for the first 1143 kWh per quarter, and 2.574p thereafter
16.660p for the first 225 kWh per quarter, and 8.760p thereafter
incl. 5% VAT
Excluding the VAT I make the tariffs about
3.073p for the first 1143 kWh per quarter, and 2.445p thereafter
15.870p for the first 225 kWh per quarter, and 8.322p thereafter
Am I missing something really obvious?... I'm going to call them again shortly.0 -
Hmmm getting a little bit fed up with being told different things by them now.
Overnight it seems that my tariff has changed again although I will not get the new tariff until to 30th April?
Apparently the EOESv2 has decreased again to the following (from 30th April)
Excluding the VAT:
3.081p for the first 1143 kWh per quarter, and 2.451p thereafter
15.870p for the first 225 kWh per quarter, and 8.340p thereafter
Now this is consistent with the EnergyHelpline quote.
But they are adamant that my current tariff (to 30th April) is EOESv2 with the following prices...
Electric
15.96 and 8.38
Gas
3.559 and 2.83
Yet these are different from what have been posted by other here??? can anyone clarify the prices/dates for V2 please?0 -
Would it not have been easier to edit your previous post instead of posting 3 times in a row?
What area are you in as well as prices vary nationwide.0 -

Could do but then I think that screws up those that have subscribed as they are not notified about edits (I think)...
Anyway, I'm in the London area - I didn't know there were geographic differences.0
