I've just received my letters after switching to EOESv2 and the changes are:
    (inc VAT)

    v1
    Gas
    First 1143kWh 3.737p
    Remaining kWh 2.972p

    Electric
    First 225kWh 16.59p
    Remaining kWh 8.63p

    Total discount: 20.7%

    v2
    Gas
    First 1143kWh 3.235p
    Remaining kWh 2.574p

    Electric
    First 225kWh 16.04p
    Remaining 9.56p
    Night Units 4.87p

    Total discount: 19%

Now, I've got an Economy 7 meter, but I've been on a Standard tariff for ages, so I was rather surprised (annoyed even) to see they'd decided to switch me back without asking. However, looking at my usage from September 2006 to now, it would cost me (before any discounts) £191 on the standard tarrif and £146 on Economy 7 (1169 day units, 411 night units). I do stay up very late but only watching TV or using my PC's, so I'm surprised that I can save that much by being on E7. It's nice that they put me on the cheapest tariff for my particular usage pattern but it would be better if they had explained this to me when I spoke to them.

Hmmm today I get THREE letters from Powergen each with different tariffs... admittedly two were for Energy Online - the other for EO Extra Saver..

But the extra saver tariffs that are quoted are wrong (or not the same as were quoted to me a day or two ago by Powergen).

I think their paperwork is just trying to catchup but I will probably call them again just to be sure :(

I was on winter Saver - Manweb region, and have today changed to EOESv2 a saving of £110pa - apparently, and the tariff will fall automatically when the rates are reduced - according to CSA.

Just wish I'd checked the forum more regularly as Ive missed out on the new tariff start date of Feb.

but hey - every little helps !

Last week I received my Powergen quarterly bill, and today I recieved a letter from PG stating that I was on the lowest rates available - without actually saying what these were. So I thought I would check against the switching sites and found that whilst the discounts were correct, the unit prices I was being charged were considerably higher. I phoned PG and they said that the lower prices being quoted on all the switching sites were those that come into force on the 30th April.

Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was starting to wonder!

POWERGEN...hemmmmmmmmmmmm I was with them for yonks, then changed, was away one month then went back. I was considered a new customer and got a new customer number. I recon that if I am going to get loyalty points I may as get them as not, that;s why I returned to POWERGEN.
What I fail to understand is that I am unable to find ANY tariffs on the web site.
I am on GAS:EnergyOnline Winter Saver and ELECTRICITY:ElectricityOnline Winter Saver.
Checked on moneysupermarket comparison site tonight to be told that I could save 46 pounds is I changed supplier to NPower or B/ Gas.

MY LAST BILL ( I usually supply a meter reading every three months) it seems that I am 96 in debit. I nearly choked when I saw my bill, considering I have been away for most of the winter, and had left my heat on low, and am very well insulated etc.

MY NEXT GRIPE IS WHY WE HAVE TO PAY VAT ON ENERGY???
Today, my BEST is good enough.

christabell ask Powergen to switch you on to their Energy Online Extra Saver tariff as this will give you an extra 2% discount (I'm assuming you live in the Southern area - if not let me know which area and I'll check the discount for you.).

    Here we go again....

A few weeks back I was told that my EOESv2 tariff would take effect from the 30th April... they were adamant that the tariff was not available to customers before that time although you could sign up for it.

Well I don't trust PowerGen..... I called them this morning and what a surprise... "you are on Energy Online standard sir.... I will change it for you"

GRRR... so it has apparently been changed again and the tariffs now are...

    Incl. VAT

    Gas
    First 3.23p
    Remaining 2.57p
    Electric
    First 225kWh 16.66p
    Remaining kWh 8.75p

Are these rates consistent with others, I am now on the verge of changing my supplier... as I would rather pay more and be with a supplier I feel I can trust!

I am in London by the way... though I can't see why there should be regional differences in tariffs.

    Thanks

Frustrated I just called them back again... to be told I am now on EOESV2 but it hadn't been backdated...

Anyway the person I spoke to looked back on the history and saw that I called on the 22/3/3007 and asked "Am I on EOESv2" to which I was told YES

She also admitted the V2 was leaked in March and those customers asking for it were placed on the tariff with immediate effect (not just from the 30th April as I have previously been told).

The bill with EOESv2 has now been backdated to the 22nd March and I will be available for me to view in the next few days. Also the disocunt that is applied to these accounts has increased since March so effectively I am receiving a greater discount being backdated to the 22nd March.

I also confirmed the excl VAT rates:-
    Gas
    First 3.081p
    Remaining 2.451p
    Electric
    First 225kWh 15.870p
    Remaining kWh 8.340p

Just to let all you Powergen customers know, EnergyOnline Extra saver version3 has been released. Some discounts have increased, whilst others are still the same. give powergen a ring and found out if the new version works out cheaper for you.

    Thanks

p.s Electricity online extra saver has not changed.
