Yes you have to pay by monthly DD0 -
Gal,
Can you confirm if I am on the cheapest tariff?
From my Online Account:
ElectricityOnline Extra Saver Economy 7
prices:
First 225kWh: £17.31
additional kWh: £10.84
Night units: £4.42
discounts:
Direct Debit: 3.00%
EnergyOnline Extra Saver: 14.00%
Single Fuel: 3.00%
Many thanks,
Those are the prices and discounts for ElectricityOnline Extra Saver Version 2 Economy 7 for the Southern area. So as long as that's where you live then you're on the cheapest tariff0 -
Have Powergen changed the discounts with v2 of the EnergyOnline Extra Saver tariff?
My current unit prices are higher than those listed on energyhelpline.com for v2 so I am definitely on v1. But my current discount on v1 is 19.6% (Yorkshire region) - for v2 it's quoted as 17%. Have they reduced their unit prices but lowered the discount to compensate?0 -
I've just phoned Powergen up, they told me it would actually cost me £11 more per year for Electricity, but £16 less for Gas. How odd is that.
So a £5 saving over all.0 -
Thanks - I phoned Powergen too and they agreed to move me to v2 and apparently will save me £22 on top of the v1 savings0

If you don't get any luck let me know and I'll do it myself.
No reply to the email after 1 week so I phoned this morning. CS agreed that v2 would be cheaper by £41.25 so it's been changed over. I asked them to back date it to 2 weeks ago as they should have been put on that in the first place.
Still showing Enery Online Extra Saver - no mention of v2 at present but will check later to see if it has changed.0 -

Could take upto 48 hours to show on your Self Serve online account.
You should get a letter in the post as well with your new prices so keep an eye out for that as well.0 -
Received a letter from powergen today thanking me for changing energy products. It still just describes it as EnergyOnline Extra Saver. I didn't think to ask them to backdate it like you did Jem16 - oh well may try that next time!
Electric on v1 was = 17.16p primary and 9.48p secondary. And on V2 is 17.93p primary and 9.9p secondary.
Under gas on V1 = 3.559 primary and 2.83p secondary. On V2 is 3.235 primary and 2.574p secondary.
So more expensive on electric than v1 but cheaper on gas then? Ah they said will save me £22 so I ain't complaining0 -
The two different versions of EOES make things very confusing.
On v1 the total discount is 20.7%. On v2, the unit prices are cheaper but the total discount is 19%. Thank God that energyhelpline.com is there to do the calculations for me, which shows that I'd save £27 by switching to v2.0 -

I asked why my parents were not put on it in the first place if it was cheaper. He said that they may only have looked at the discounts and not the actual tariff.
Still he was happy to backdate it.0
