    Hi,

Well, I am still here and still a happy F4 user. Hardly any connection problems in the last few months.

Just like The Loft I am waiting for B Band to get a bit cheaper before I convert.

I was however, nearly tempted by the recent e7even offer, which included free connection and a free router, although I didn't succumb! Their offer has now ended.

I have just looked at the offer on the totalise website and it looks very good as well, albeit a 256mb service

    Here is the link https://www.totalise.co.uk

Still, for the time being, a very happy F4 user although Mrs Sayer will be very happy if, and when, she eventually gets the use of her phone line back.

    The Loft,
I think that I have read a post of yours stating that is difficult to migrate, (in the future), from some b band providers due to the delivery system that they use. I think that you mentioned 'datastream' or something very like it.
My question is, how do you find the delivery system of a broadband supplier, and, which of the bband providers use this system?

    Cheers

    Leo
Dont you just love freshly congealed pigs blood, with a bit of fat in :D
  • Like Manchestman I have just had my account closed by Fast4 for stopping others getting online. I use the internet about 8 hrs daily. The worst thing was no warning or notification E-Mail, so I was just left with no connection and could not even get online to look at other ISP offers. I am now back online using AOL's 1 month free, so at least I can find another provider that is more long term. Unlimited should mean unlimited but actually it does not. Do other Cheap ISP's do the same? The worst thing was that they took my monthly fee out on Saturday and closed the account on Sunday.

p.s This is my 1st post I hope it works OK. Have been watching the site for a while (Isn't it great!) and am now getting braver.

    Miss Moneypenny

I have been with F4 since June 03,apart from a free 2 month trial with AOL at the beginning of this year.
The reason I returned to F4 was because of the good value I get for £6-99 a month,I easily clock 40 hours a week maybe more.
As you are now with AOL may I offer this advice, just before your free trial is up,contact AOL and tell them you wish to cancel, they will then offer a further free month.
Just before the second free month is up,again tell them you wish to cancel and when asked why say because it`s too expensive and you can get it cheaper elsewhere.
They will then offer you a package that they keep quite about, namely 22 hours a day for £9-99 a month.
The only time you can`t use it is between 7-30pm to 9-30pm.
Hope this helps, but I`m very happy staying with F4.

    Leo
Good to see you back,I expect you`re resting between tours!

Alared : It will be literally The Fast 4 ! It would be interesting to find out the percentage of people who subscribe to MSE who are still on dial-up - not many I would think?

Looks like it`s a monthly contract but there is an activation fee plus you need to buy modem and microfilters and download is capped at 2GB.

I`ve looked at quite a few packages and overall at £17-99 a month unlimited, free connection, free modem, free advice line,AOL comes out tops.

    From Fast4's website:

"Unlike our competitors we won't restrict your internet time on either platform."

"Our Unlimited package allows you to surf the Internet for a set monthly payment of only £6.99, with no weekly restrictions."

    And from their T&Cs:

"You are entitled to access the Internet for a period of no more than 168 hours per week"

If they disconnected you for overuse it might be worth speaking to the Adveritising Standards Authority and/or Trading Standards.
  • :A Thanks for this. These are the exact arguments that I put to Fast4 when I spoke to them on the telephone, but they refused to back down.
You have given me the confidence to consider taking things further. When you look at their advertising policy written down in black and white it does make me feel that I was definately wronged.

I'm wondering have they kicked me off too. Tried over 200 connections tonight using 1st Dialer but it won't connect. Connected now via BT Internet PAYG. My Fast4 email isn't working on that connection and I can't log on to my account.

    Anyone else having problems?

Mine went off at about 16:00 yesterday. I can't log in using their website either. Are they having problems or have I been booted off too ?
