Hi Lady-K
May be i am mistaken as i assumed because i get local and national calls free that included the local rate numbers.Rememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance. And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know
when, You might need them to empty your bedpan.0 -
Well I'm not exactly sure when you refer to it as local rate but really it isnt local rate even though I've heards it called that before but I was told by them I'd still pay for all numbers apart from the ones starting with 01 and 02
talk24 doesnt cover international anymore so I'm not sure which one you are on but I still dont think its free for those numbers I'd like to know though coz I'd try and get on it next time if its rightThanx

I just looked up thier international plan you add on £1.50 to your talk 24 package I think unless they just let you add that on its own but I don't think so.
The rates are really rubbish compared to 1899 its not worth even paying £1.50. I couldnt see any less than 2p Canada and America were 2p but they are 1p with 1899 and the others on the list are much higher than 1899 too apart from Ireland which is the same at 2p really rubbish international rates I'd sayThanx

We have been with Telewest since they changed to digital and currently pay about £50 a month for tv/broadband/telephone. What does anybody think I could get a better deal?0

hey there Windywolves,
i think you should call them up, but be-clear on what you have and what you be looking to get. afterall theres no harm in trying !0 -
I took out a subscription to TalkTalk landline and broadband (free for life). Great offer. I then went to cancel my existing NTL broadband account and guess what! - they are giving me NTL broadband free for life!
Doubly marvellous as I have NO other services from NTL (yet) apart from the broadband. The NTL rationale is that I will remain a customer even though they will have NO revenue from me for the present.0 -
Phoned up NTL last week and was offered the following without any awkward discussions - they bent over backwards for me:-
1mb for £9.99
4mb for £12.49
10mb for £17.49
All without having to agree to a new contract. Price are permanent and ongoing - no need to phone up every three months to secure the same deal.
I have broadband only from them, and have always been on the £17.99 per month deal, whichever speed was on offer at the time.

I rang NTL today and after the obligatory 20 minute wait to speak to customer relations they offered me the family pack, sky sports, 4mb broadband and the phone line for £37 a month. They said it was a 6 month offer but to ring back after that time to see what other offers were available.0

Here is my post following my call to Telewest.AuntyJean wrote:I finally plucked up the courage to ring and went straight to cancellations (Telewest, not NTL which is a different telephone number).
I simply said I wanted to cancel as Talk Talk was half the price. The lovely girl I spoke to said they were fully aware of what Talk Talk could offer but there were concerns that in the contract (which is for 18 months) they reserve the right to start charging for broadband at any time and that this could be as much as £30. She said this was bound to happen at some stage or they would go bust. I said I would challenge this if it happened.
She then said that Talk Talk also have access to view your online banking details but Telewest do not. I asked why they would want to do this and she said she had no idea and found it strange they would want to do so.
Finally, after about 15 minutes she put me on hold while she checked out all the packages they have.
The outcome:-
Keeping Supreme package TV - reduced from £17.50 pm to £15.50
Broadband staying at 2mb reduced from £17.99 to £13.00
Line rental staying at £10.50 (instead of increasing to £11 in June)
As we also have answerphone and call reject she added caller display free of charge.
All this fixed for one year.
Yipee. Saving of over £80 per year.
Thank you everyone who gave me the courage to phone.
Beware those of you going to Talk Talk, it could be costing you more in the long run?
Most people agree NTL gives a better deal. There is always light within the dark0 -

That's the sickening thing. I've been with NTL for three years and have paid £23.99 every month (you pay £17.99 for the same deal). Why can't they be decent without customers having to plead and give everyone a fair deal.0
