Hi all - the full £800 compensation was paid into my account today - on time.

We worth the 9hrs of lazing about - with free meal vouchers!

Hi. How many days did it take from supplying bank details to payment? And did you get any communication to confirm??
  • THOMAS COOK TCX 5175 20th November 2014 - Lanzarote ACE >> East Midlands EMA

There was a 20hr delay and TC accept that my claim was within scope (faulty engine solenoid)

On 20th January -TC Customer Relations wrote"You will receive the compensation within 28 days and the amount being paid will be confirmed on your payment confirmation email."

Hi - just shy of the 28 days stated - checked balance online & it was there - no email as yet.
    Good luck!
  • In brief- Began compensation claim early 2013 by post, after much delay TC admitted compensation was due late 2014 and issued vouchers. Vouchers returned on 2nd January via reg post with a request for a cheque payment. No response from TC
Question. How long do I wait? Should I phone or email? If so what is best number/email address please.
    Many thanks

Now my question --- I understand that compensation will be paid in UK£ based on the €uro equivalent

Should the amount be based on the date of the delay, the date of the claim or the date of payout? .... with the way that the €uro is going at the moment it's more than a few pounds on a €800 settlement.

Hi Mike, It's really up to you to argue the best rate that suits you, there has never been a definitive answer. Of Course, if it's a result of a Court case, the Judge will decide what the compensation should be.

    Cheers,

    NoviceAngel

PS I think the date of the delay but that's just my opinion.

Reading through TC's application for stay pending Van Der Lans, they seem to think the event is relevant in my case. I suspect TC have not told the solicitors the truth, boy are they in for one big suprise.
I hope when the judge seems what i have then he instructs TC to explain why it's defence should not be thrown out.

Also noticed the aruguments in the Van der lans case are basically the same as Huzar! Two limbs, flight safty short comings etc.

    Phone them.
We used 01274 387732 (and choose the "everything else" option from the choices given to you).

In my experience the people answering the phones are quite helpful.
