Does anyone know if claim should be submitted in Euros as per draft letter or in sterling?

Has anyone had any success with Ryanair? If so, please give some tips. My flight in June was 5 hours late after they switched aircraft from an earlier delayed flight and then claimed circumstances beyond their control! Has anyone had to deal with Edel Coughlan in their customer services in Dublin? What a nightmare!0

My flight was delayed for 2 nights, not only did I have to fork out for hotel stay for the two days - I wasn't given any explanation! (Going back to 2010)
Does this only count for EU Flights?0 -
Back in 2007 me and my buddy had a 10 hour delay with XL Airways but the company has gone out of business. The delay was due to a technical fault with the aircraft so clearly it was the airlines fault. Is there any way we can make a claim in the light of the EU ruling and who would we write to?0

*impatient*!
I sent in my letter on November 27th & just had a reply today.

Hi Martin and All,
My airline company (Eurocypria) is now in liquidation but I bought the flights through a holiday company: Olympic Holidays.
Is it worth trying to claim compensation from the holiday company or is it only the airline who is liable?
(The flights were bought in 2008 from Olympic Holidays: flights-only (not a package holiday) and the airline was Eurocypria. We were delayed at the airport for 30.5 hours due to 'technical difficulties' but the airline refused to give compensation because we were 'delayed' not 'cancelled').0 -
Hi all, newbie here.
I was in a party of 40 people flying with Thomas Cook to Mexico last year which was delayed by 10 hours.
In your experience would it be better to do a great big claim for all 40 or individually?
I was going to claim for just myself first to see how it all works before I claim for everyone.
Advice for a claim this size?0 -
Hi,
we were delayed 5hrs on a return flight with first choice from menorca in september 2008 but I do not have any of the receipts as it was 5yrs ago, is there any way of finding details without going through first choice as I doubt they will be in any hurry to give me the evidence to make a claim against themselves.0 -
I have received my Thomson claim form which asks for copies of boarding cards which we don`t have. The form states it will not process my claim without them. I will state I think it is unreasonable to have kept them since 2011 but anything else I can "quote" from a legal perspective?

Airline: Monarch
Departure Date : 14/01/12
Flight Number : ZB248
Departure Airport : GATWICK to Sharm el Sheikh
We bought holiday from Expedia and the holidays provider were Fleetway.
We departed 09:10 from Gatwick and were supposed to land in Sharm el Sheikh after roughly four and half hours. But after about two hours of departure we heard the announcement that we landing at Greece/Athens airport (dont remember exactly). we spent the whole night there at the airport and than the next morning they sent another Monarch airline from London and we flew to Sharm el Sheikh, about 10 hours delay i guess.
The pilot said that the wind screen cracked and for safety reason he had to land at the nearest airport.
I did send an email to Fleetway but they said it wasnt our/airline fault and hence can not do anything.
I would like to know if we can make a claim?
Many thanks0
