Hi im new to this I feel VM are not giving me the best deal for my money
up until around 2 months ago I was on
TV - XL = 20.50
BB - 2mb = 25.00
Phone = 11.00
coming to a staggering £56 a month these were separate is the explanation they gave me, so they agreed to reduce it to 42.00 and bump up the BB to 4mb. I have never been givena free wireless router and no v+ box or any additional boxes.
Im still not too chuffed with this and would like the internet to be faster how likely am I to be successful? Ive also had enough of VM's tv package and in a few months plan to cancel
thanks for listening to my gripe, any advice?

The offered me that for 19.99 last yr and I refused. Ended up just on 2mb BB for £10 a month, got a sky dish fitted for £75 for all the free channels and use VoIP instead of virgin phone. All that has costed me £120 (bb)+75 (sky) + 40 (calls, no line rental) for the past yr, but this yr it will just be £10/month BB and about £3/month for calls.0 -

My advice is for you to use your common sense and not talk about starview, eurovox, etc etc.0 -
What is a eurovox please?
PM me if its not allowed to be posted....0 -
Soon I will be moving in to a new house and need to make a deicision on SKY or Virgin Media. From what I can see SKY offers me a better deal as I don't have a wireless router already.
What I really want is...
At least 8MB Broadband- with a reasonable download limit and a free wireless router.
A basic to reasonable TV package with things like UK Gold, Dave and maybe the music channels. No interest in documentaries, style channels, kids etc. 3 young 20 somethings watching you see...But the main thing is that when I want I can phone up and get SKY SPORTS for the football season.
Basic phone package is fine.
At Virgin I can't see a decent package for £30 or less yet I can at SKY (without Sky Sports). So definately SKY then?! Or can anyone else suggest better?0 -
My contract with Virgin is due for renewal this month. Last year i agred the following -
Telephone line rental £11
Talk unlimited £7.95
Talk International £1.50 -do not use this at all but part of package
Talk Mobile £1.50
Starter tv package £5.50
Broadband M £18
E bill discount 0.50p
Loyalty package
MINUS £20
Total £24.95
I am quite happy with the above. Do not need any upgrades. Would prefer reductions in cash!
Has anyone got a better deal? I see that there are different packages available just now- Any existing customers got an improved deal for less, similar to my package?0 -
I have just given notice on my virgin account after 2 years with them, not that the service was ever bad but we could give ourselves a pay rise by leaving.
We just used the 2MB connection BB and this is now at £18 pcm which = £216 per year, I done a lot or research on ADSL BB as we have had cable for so long and after many calls and reading of endless reviews I have moved to O2 Broadband this is at £12.50 pcm the service up to now (ordering stage has been A1) and calling them takes moments.
The last few months I ran Net Meter to see what our usage was and it came in at 2 - 3 GG per month hardly heavy users so I thought we may as well move. All the people in my area with ADSL BB who get quoted 8MB are pulling 6.5 - 7.5 MB as we are close to exchange so all looking good and a saving of £66 per year as well. Which should help offset the £100 council tax rise
So now we are happily working with
BT basic line rental DD & Paperless Billing at £10.50
1899 or skype for calls roughly paying about £3/£4 every two months
Freeview TV - Not big TV fans so this serves us more than enough, we only use that around 10 hours a week tops
O2 Broadband - £12.50
Thats all in for £300 per year roughly now bad in my opinionNovelty rat race, acceleration, believe consume then pay. But we refuse to play!0 -
Last April I negotiated
Line rental
Talk eve & weekends
Talk mobile
XL TV
XL Broadband
For £48.50 including the loyalty discount.
I'm quite pleased but wonder if it's worth another try to get a better deal.
Also on my bill it says
Loyalty pack BB Phone TV 3 D Sky
I'm embarrassed to ask but what's 3 D Sky please?
Thanks0 -

If you have left Virgin and are happy, good luck to you...
but who ever paid £18 a month for 2mb BB with Virgin... ok that might be the stated price for it, but a quick call to India and they will reduce it down to £10 without question.0
