We signed up to dial up before october, so have moved to v21 and kept getting invalid username/password messages.
I phoned up V21 0870 383 0030 and the person who phoned me back said yes I had moved to them but our details for some reason weren't on the database, so they added our details, so our internet now works!

So for anyone else that is having the same problem and signed up before October, that could be your answer!

Looks like Fast4 is up and running and offering BB @8 mb for £15-95 unlimited and free connection.
You can also buy a modem and filter from them for £29-95 if needed.

I can see a mass exodus from V21/Biscit to Fast4.

Anniecave, glad you phoned that number I put it on ages ago, and glad to hear they were helpful, I am on V21 broadband , at least I think it is V21, I log into that, on members, although it has not been available this last few days, there is a message saying all up and running soon. Changing over accounts I suppose. The broadband is very quick. In answer to somebody elses post, I do not know anyone with the phone package from Biscuit but a friend of mine says it is similar price to talk talk. I do not want to attach my phone to any internet provider, just happy putting 1899 in front of my numbers, maybe it would be cheaper if you are a heavy phone user, but it seems limited anyway.

All the best to everyone, hope all goes well for the fast4 users, I just got off in time!! Regards oap

    Hi notanickname and Geffo M.
Yes, they took three payments from my account in two days. I have contacted them by emailing their accounts dept and they have agreed to refund the money into the account, but haven't yet.
What was more worrying is that on checking my payments since starting in Dec 04, V21 had also debited my account at random times, resulting in them taking 14 monthly payments last year and 13 times already this year.
Biscit have checked and agreed to refund all but one payment, so I am still in dispute, waiting to hear back from them.
Good luck with getting your money back, I think Biscit is trying, but seem to have bitten off more than they can chew!
    Russ.

    Hi rrockettman.

I'm in the same position - have gone back through my payment receipts since the start in March 05 and found I've overpaid by £80.73. Not terribly happy and am about to email Biscit. You seem to have got a result, so thought I'd ask before emailing them, if you don't mind. How 'assertive' were you in your email, and did they agree straight away or try to fob you off?

    All advice greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    H.
  • Hi Hana.
I sent this to Hugh Paterson, Biscit CEO.
    hpaterson@biscit.net

    Dear Mr Patterson.
    Re V21 account no ******
I have noticed that V21 have taken the 9.99 monthly payment three times this month.
On checking back through my statements, I noticed that 15 payments where taken in 2005 and so far this year, you have already taken 15 payments.
As the plan I signed up to in Dec 2004 stated the payments would be 9.99 a month I assumed there would be 12 months in a year, not 15+.
I have tried to contact customer services to sort this out and have left messages on the answerphone but have recieved no reply. As I am phoning an 0870 number, it is costing me around 7p a min, 10 mins waiting for an advisor and making you more money for providing a poor service, you have a win win situation and your message has the cheek to tell me that my call is important to you!
As I have stated several times by phone and email, I can be contacted on ***** ******, or by email to ************
I expect a reply within the next 48 hours and the excess funds that have been taken from my account without my consent, totalling 79.92 to be credited to my account within the next 14 days.
    Yours sincerely

I recieved a response the next day.
As I said earlier, they do seem to be trying.
    Good luck.
    Russ.

  • Ex fast4 dial up. (If we can please put something like this at the start of posts, then we'll all know which hymn sheet we're singing from!)

Just phoned the 0870 383 0030 number, and actually managed to talk to someone within a minute. This is the first time I've actually managed to get it to work.

I explained that I couldn't get on with dialup. The lady took my name, account number and phone details. I asked, "as this had been the case for most of this month, will I get a refund?" Lady said that she would put in a request for the same.

At the start of the week, I also put in a complaint to the ISP "members group", which I can't remember the name of. It's mentioned further back in the posts and is sort of a trade federation for ISPs.

    Greetings all.

    Wow, what a thread!

It's just taken me 1-2 hours to read most of it. I came over to this side of MSE to see if anyone had posted any Fast4 probs. What an under statement!

What finally prompted me (besides all the off/on dial-up issues over the last couple of months) was not being able to access members area of Fast4 to complain about:

    - this BS about being a V21 member now without being notified
    - being charged twice this month @ £4.99
    - having an apparent cutoff time of 1 hour instead of 2 hours as from today

Unlike most of you, I've never had any emails and I'm still using my 0808 9933025 number. No doubt this will change...

Interesting the notion that those of us that have been charged more than once can regard it as theft? Anyone chased this up yet?
I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!
