I'm an O2 customer and was going to jump at this when it came from on the weekly newsletter...however, we're currently with Talk Talk so therefore don't have a BT line, so this would involve us having to change from Talktalk to BT
I left BT as their call package couldn't beat TalkTalk's....our bill is around £25 per month for broadband and 24/7 landline calls to 01 or 02 numbers......unless anyone knows a better deal or way round this then I'm having to stay put :o

If you can get the £7.50p broadband.

BT Line Rental ( Online Billing) £10.50 ,Free Caller Display,

24/7 inclusive landline calls to 01/02/03 numbers £5.95 plus 200 texts and free mobile saver.
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayCategory.do?categoryId=CON-TOG-OPT-R1

    £10.50 + £5.95+ £7.50 = £23.95. a month.

Okay, this is probably a stupid question, but if we change to O2, the OH will lose his email address with Virgin (I only use webmail based addresses but he doesn’t). Is there a way of automatically forwarding emails from the old email address to the new one for a while, like there is with snail mail, or will the old address just be deleted and that’s it? Obviously he would give friends and family the new address but often you don’t remember everyone whom you have given your email address, you could have put it on countless competitions who might try to email you in some months’ time! Any ideas?

I was with Virgin, using Thunderbird email client. Switched to ADSL, so no longer even on the cable network but I can still get access to my emails, there is no send facility though. Before I changed I sent an email to everyone with the new address (web based email) but I still get the odd message on my old account.
  • I'm interested in signing up for the O2 Broadband but can't get the cheaper one in my area yet so it'll cost me £17.50 per month. This seems reasonable as the usage is unlimited and the service has got very positive feedback. Does anyone know if I will still be entitled to the £60 cashback if I sign up to this service and not the £7.50 service? Also how do you claim the cashback as I've never used Quidco or Topcashback before? Thanks

Please note you'd have to be an O2 Mobile customer to get that package for £17.50 otherwise it is £22.50
    Waddle you do eh?

Just rang tiscali to get a MAC code so I code move to O2 broadband and they offered me 6 months free and then only £4.99 a month for the same service that they've happily charged me £17.99 a month for!
I really should phone all companies on an annual basis and tell them I'm thinking of leaving and see what they offer.

I just tried this too, with NO luck at all!!!!

Ok I just ordered O2 broadband via quidco last night. It tracked as £60.

I dont have a O2 phone (so registered for the full £15 16mbit deal), but also just ordered a free payg sim card under the same name.

I was told by a girl from O2 last week that I can start the discount to make it £10 a month anytime after ordering. So if I get the payg sim in a week or so and phone O2 to get my broadband cost reduced, will this affect my Quidco claim?

The £60 has already tracked through quidco, and says Jan '09.

    Thanks.

Well I'd been looking at going to O2 anyway, now I certainly shall be doing. I am heartily sick of Plus Net. Their customer service is bad and it's difficult to actually get hold of anybody. Worse still, the speed is up and down like a yo yo . To be fair all of this has really only been since BT took them over... what more do I have to say?

I am with Plusnet and am thinking of changing to O2.Thing is how would it work with line rental,at the moment I have the line rental combined into the Plusnet phone package.Would this still work with O2 ? I think BT actually own Plusnet so perhaps it still counts as a BT line.Otherwise would I have to pay for a BT line rental and add this to the broadband cost.Any ideas or help anyone ?
  • I signed up last night from Plusnet, but I have my line rental with BT.
No idea how it works with BT lines where user pays a third party for line rental.
Could just try entering your number on the o2 sign-up site. that tells you if you can join. Maybe that checks you physical setup at the exchange?

My concern is that I have CPS with Talktalk and this may cause problems with TalkTalk. Soon see I guess! anyone know?

BTW, I found Plusnet very good for CS, but just a little bit behind these days on speed and d/l limits. O2 are cheaper, faster and UK helpdesks. Worth a go. If it doesn't work out, I'll go back to PN in a heartbeat (well, 50 days anyway!)
  • Im only getting offered the deal of;

    £17.50
    For O2 mobile
    customers

    £22.50 all other customers

    Why is this?

? Your question doesn't make any sense. To receive the discount you have to pay £10 per quarter. Why would you receive the discount if you didn't pay anything?

But, yes, you can receive the discount if you buy a pay as you go SIM and credit it with £10 each quarter.

1st post in this thread doesn't say you have to credit £10 per quarter - hance whay I asked. Obviously a cheaper alternative than a mobile contract

Big up Yeovil by the way - not too far from me
