im still stuck with blooming bulldog because its so difficult to switch away from them (they do my landline too). At £30 a month its a right ripoff but theyve been saying for months they have a new pricing scheme coming in (since they are part of pipex who in turn are now part of tiscali). im getting more incensed every time i call up and get fobbed off again!0

Looking at changing my broadband provider as I've been with BT for a year now. Signal recently has been absolutely RUBBISH - when I contacted them, they advised me that I was on the outskirts of the exchange range, so we'd be first to disconnect if there were any problems.
Tiscali are offering broadband at the moment at £9.99 a month for 3 months - then £14.99. But this includes your line rental as well and free calls including international.
Does this sound like too good a deal? Anyone gone with them already?
I'm assuming for the o2 deal you still have to pay the quarterly charge to BT, which is the expensive bit for me as I have free mintues on my mobile so don't use the land line.0 -

I have a couple of PC's on most of the day, used for web, gaming, and website maintenance, I seem to be using around 10-15GB per month (upload and download combined). Never had a problem with my current provider (Be) but don't want to have troubles if this is too high for O2.
thanks
BE was bought by O2/Telefonica a couple of year ago and therefore O2 uses the network BE built for it's own broadband services. Meaning its the same service whichever you're with.0 -
I'm about to move into a rented flat for the first time, does anyone know if i will need to get connected to bt first then call o2 to connect to them?
Sorry have not got a clue, will have to call them up, just wondered if anyone has done something of the same. Just hope i dont need to pay a £120 connection charge for BT.
thanks0 -

You're right that O2 now owns BE, but they are still two distinct services (eg O2 give you e-mail addresses whereas BE doesn't, BE Unlimited and Pro have a 3 month notice period, O2's contract is a year), so they may differ in other ways as well.
Having said that, from what I've heard O2's fair use policy is no stricter than BE's and 10-15GB/month is not particularly high anyway.0 -

Just rang tiscali to get a MAC code so I code move to O2 broadband and they offered me 6 months free and then only £4.99 a month for the same service that they've happily charged me £17.99 a month for!
I really should phone all companies on an annual basis and tell them I'm thinking of leaving and see what they offer.
Just got the same deal myself, and a £10 credit to my account. Thanks for posting this, otherwise I wouldn't have pushed them so hard. :j0 -

same here regarding the 25 quid cashback....if only I waited a month or 2 later I`d have got 60 quid but that`s life.
no problems getting the cashback via quidco myself anyway
Oh, and no problems with 02. Excellent service0 -
I'm an O2 customer and was going to jump at this when it came from on the weekly newsletter...however, we're currently with Talk Talk so therefore don't have a BT line, so this would involve us having to change from Talktalk to BT
I left BT as their call package couldn't beat TalkTalk's....our bill is around £25 per month for broadband and 24/7 landline calls to 01 or 02 numbers......unless anyone knows a better deal or way round this then I'm having to stay put0 -
