Excellent Thorsoak, I love the idea of a Bucket List. I have read a few of the ideas after googling it, they are all so expensive and some are just daft. I think I am going to have to get my thinking cap on and think of some things to do that aren't so outlandish! And in England. My days of getting on a plane are well and truly over :-(

Memory bears: just google "memory bears uk" and all sorts of sites come up, or use http://www.wyldeaboutbears.co.uk/index.htm (this is who made mine). Each will have their own process, but for mine, I just emailed the lady to explain what I wanted, and after a few emails with suggestions etc, I posted 2 sweaters (signed for) and about a week later she emailed me saying they were ready, they arrived a couple of days later (also signed for) all boxed up and carefully wrapped.
As simple as that. I cried buckets when they arrived.

hello again
You are getting some great ideas. Dont you just love bosses bears? I think that are great and will last a lifetime. You could possibly get two made and give them a each a bottle of perfume for your children to spray on as required?
I have got a couple made by a lady near to where i live and she is on Facebook called forget me not bears in Worcester.
we are all here for you xxxxxx0 -
Rather than a blog. Get 2 (3 for backup) usb pen drives and make up books (office word, publisher) include pics, words etc and also save recorded videos words on them. Maybe in folders for different events. Print them off and put it in the boxes. Have seperate books for both plus shared ones. Put a pen drive in each and give the master one (both boys stuff) to a family member. That way there is loads copies about. Over the years after my mum died, things where lost, damaged or thrown out and there is things I wish I had copies off.
You could also scan things like your birth certificate, any qualification certs ( daft things that are yours) but both have a copy forever.0 -

Hi.
Hope you don't mind but was wondering if you'd mind telling us how much they cost?
When my mum was diagnosed. We made goals, little and big. Her big goal was to see her niece born but she never made it. Would love to get the babs a bear made with one of my mums tops etc.Sigless0 -

Hi Lushmush
My prays are with you and your children. Being the practical person that I am, I think the important thing is to leave a Will, with all your wishes for the children written in. You may not have much, but I am sure you will wish whatever you have to go to them. If you have a close family member or friend you can trust to carry out these instructions, please discuss it with them now. I am sorry to say in times of grief people forget what they should be doing and ignore what is important.
I am sure you will wish to go with peace of mind, this is just as important as a memory box.
God Bless

Hi,
You have received some great advice and ideas here.
I just wanted to say the idea of a blog is great. I wrote a blog when my husband died and I found it really helpful to jot things down and share how I am feeling with others.
But yours can be a lasting happy memories. All the little things you'd like to share with your family and little quotes. Maybe start with one fo the silly '50 questions' type things with 'What's your favourite colour?' and 'What's your favourite ice cream?'.
It's things like that as well I'm sure your boys will appreciate knowing in the future.
Have you decided who you would like to look after the boys after you have gone? I know this is a sad thought but this does require careful planning.
Do you have a family member or a dear friend who would be willing to be their guardian? If so, this person needs to be noted in your Will.
If there isn't anyone you can think of then you should consider talking with your local council and social services.
Creating memories doesn't have to cost a lot. It can be simply things like going to the park for a picnic or having a movie night in with lots of popcorn. So try not to worry about money too much.
Your attitude seems very positive and I truly admire that. I just wanted to wish you all the luck for your and your childrens future.0 -
There are no pockets in shrouds..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
I don't know if you have time for reading, but if you do I recommend Dina Rabinowitz: take off your party dress.
