    Lushmush,

I read on here more often than actually commenting, but couldn't pass yours. It's a hard thing you are facing, and I'm sure you have both good and bad days.

I have a large family, and over the years, we have unfortunately lost many. Could I make one practical suggestion? If you have plans, or a way you would like everything to go, please let someone know. It will bring you both comfort to have that organisation in place. I am sorry I can't phrase that any less bluntly.

The other suggestion I could make. Have you thought about keeping a diary for each child, or even one copies can be made from? It's so hard looking at photos and trying to remember what a person was like sometimes, and with my parents getting older now, we spend a lot of time talking about the past. Even though I thought I knew them quite well, reading some of my mum's diary entries when she found one in our attic and passed it around us- reading what she thought of silly small things we had done that day, getting exasperated because we wouldn't put our shoes on the correct feet again and were late for school- all those small, tiny, insignificant details are so precious now as they gave us an understanding of what my parents were like back then-and how much they loved us was evident on every page, and would be a comfort if we did not have them.

Huge hugs, and I wish I could offer more, but please feel free to PM if you need someone to talk to sometime.

    Hi everyone,
Sorry for disappearing, I have had a really crappy few days...

A couple of months ago my landlady text me to tell me that she was selling the house that I currently rent. I applied to my local council as she wouldn't let me get the house adapted for my needs and I thought it was a good opportunity to leave and get what I need to help me.

I got into contact with all the agencies helping me, the school, social services, consultants etc and hey all wrote me excellent references explaining the difficulties I have with getting around (I can't physically walk upstairs anymore and I need a downstairs bathroom, that kind of thing) and I submitted it to the council.

Fast-forward to now 8 weeks later...the council have decided I am not a priority and have been offering me flats in towns up to 20 miles away from my family, the boys schools and my support network. It was actually my Step-sister who processed my application (huuuuuge family divide after the death of my grandmother). I am feeling very angry and vulnerable at the moment and I just don't know what to do :-(

    Sorry for moaning

Anyway, back to the matter in hand...

I absolutely love writing and have kept a diary since I was 13, I haven't re-read any of them diaries as I would find it so cringeworthy!

However they may be a good basis for starting to write a 'life story' kind of thing for the boys. I have got nearly 15 years worth of notebooks to gather information from.
It will definitely be a very good idea to make copies of all these little things as I am sure the boys will get great insight on what went on in my brain! Should I begin to type some of these diaries up? I saw a company on google actually do bookbinding too :-) Now I look back, I have had a somewhat turbulent life so they should make good reading lol

Be careful,What happens if they lose them? Also could you not let your boys to read them or are they too personal?
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • Get in contact with your MP to bring pressure about your housing needs, make an appointment to see them, it may bring weight to your argument, those who shout loudest normally get heard.

    Good luck

You aren't moaning - you seem to be in a horrendous situation :( Go back and talk to your support network - I'm pretty certain that your application should not have been processed by a relative - make certain that this point is raised - it should not be protocol for her to deal with this case - either favourably or unfavourably. Put an appeal in!
