i have started work for a new company and over the last 2 days we have received many calls from "central meters registration". After the first 5 phone calls, i have now resorted to telling them that we are all sorted and hang the phone up, which i did today, only to receive a call back from them straight away calling me a fu**ing kn*b! very professional!0

Have a bit of fun with them, one way of dealing with pest callers is to be as polite as possible and simply explain to them that they have the wrong contact details however it happens all the time and you'd be happy to give them the correct details, such as "Mr P I Staker" or "Amanda Hugankiss" Hugh Ganis" etc, make up a number and at least "IF" they call back you can at least have a laugh.0

I have received 30 call for the last two weeks from this company, they call 5 times a day,
when I say no they have a go at me to the extent of swearing at me,
they abuse my receptionist,
when I say I am with a customer and I ask them to please stop calling I am with a customer they continue calling,
they tell me they wont stop calling until I register my meter and get onto a tariff with them,
when I have asked to speak to managers they make me wait for 20mins and then put the phone down on me,
they have been abusing me for weeks and I want an apology,
I have contacted the trading standards, they told because the company is a broker they cant help me,
Please Please Please - can someone help me, I want to speak to a senior manager or a director and I want to make a serious complaint, the last call I got was today at 4pm and again I was being abused on the phone!!
I want to make a complaint, I want an apology and I want them to stop calling, I dont want to simply block the numbers, they should not get away with this kind of abuse and harassment, I want to shut that company down!!!!0 -
Here is the bit that's been bugging me and perhaps one of you ex employees can help. How the hell did they get my number? The thing is I started getting the calls within a couple of days of opening the shop, on my mobile. Except it wasn't my mobile (due to signal probs) but my wife's!
This led me to believe that the only people who could have given me up were the letting agents - to whom I gave no permission to pass any of my details onto.
No advertising etc. and certainly not with my wife's mobile as a contact!
If it was them then they have been responsible for 2 other businesses in our street signing up for really bad electricity deals (I was lucky enough to have internet going and popped in the details as they talked to find horror stories aplenty)0 -
I've read all the emails and really need help - unfortunately I have been a lot more naive than all of you on here. The Business Energy Company rang me early Jan (I had just moved in to a unit run by Peterborough Council, who told me that they would sort the energy out and someone would be in touch), they guy on the phone (I want to name the **** but my wife has advised me against it!! So I'm playing the decent person!!!!!) led me to believe he was representing the council, gave me a pack of lies - when I told him I had a friend who worked for Utilitrack and was going to help with the electricity supply the **** said that 'Utilitrack were just brokers, but he could offer me the best deal' etc etc Swore blind he wasn't broker. To cut a very long story short he took my bank details having told me there was a cooling off period. It was only when he said he was recording that he started talking very fast and got me to confirm everything. The next day I discovered I'd been duped and they were actually Sandown Holdings, rang NPower, who told me to get the transcript, rang Sandown only for the same guy to ring back saying I could cancel when I got the paperwork. It was all delaying tactics and the supply has now gone to NPower. I have put the contract into dispute but found out today that NPower have found nothing wrong with the verbal contract - they are as bad as the brokers. All these people are absolute liars, I wouldn't trust any of them. It doesn't hold NPower in a good light, they reckon they've done nothing wrong (I said to the guy from NPower today ' So if I steal something and give i to you, then you've done nothing wrong if you know it's wrong??' - I am tied into a three year deal at three times the price I should be paying. NPower say they'll escalate it if I get a full transcript, Sandown Holdings say they will send me one but reading stuff on here I have feeling it may be 'edited'! Does anone know what else I can do? I think that this is going to affect my health if it continues.0

I've been running my business for three years and recently moved from working at home into a business centre. As electricity is included with the rent I don't have any meters to be responsible for so I was rather surprised to get a phone call from the Meter Registration company this morning. Fortunately I have a very high sensitivity to scams and thought that the whole thing sounded wrong. Once I'd got the man off the phone I ran a quick search on Google which brought up lots of stuff for their name and also for Commercial Energy.
Within a few minutes I received a call from Commercial Energy - same idea as before. It's lovely to be so popular! At the same time that I was talking to them I received another phone call which was taken by the Business Centre Manager - when she asked for their company details they hung up.
I have since received calls from Darren at UK Energy who called by an a*****le because I told him to go away - charming business practice. Then there was Lauren from the Business Energy Company who disappeared when I asked for her company address and lastly (but unfortunately probably not finally) a call from Anthony from New Business Connections.
The general story seems to be same - new business address, you're on an emergency tariiff, we need to register you, you're paying 50% more than you should be, we need your meter reading and a serial number. I'm sure that if I gave them that then I'd be asked for my bank details.
It's only just gone 10am and that's already 5 phone calls - looking forward to the rest of the day!0 -
how do i cancel a contract that i was tricked into by this comercial registrations?0

This stuff is so frustrating - further to my post on Tuesday night, I got a transcript of the telephone agreement and after listening to it straight off I could tell it had been edited when i was asking questions. I put this back to NPower who in turn put it back to Sandown. The outcome now is that Sandown have invalidated the contract because they said the guy on the phone had used the 'wrong script' - yeah right!! What obviously happened is that they didn't want to fight against a telephone message that was quite clearly edited, i wonder how that would hold up in court??
To NannySilv - get a copy of the telephone transcipt, raise a dispute with your supplier, and if that's not enough go to the ombudsmen - that's what I was advised.0 -
I have recieved 5 calls from these people in the last HOUR!
Every single one has been rude and abusive when I have said I am not interested.
One woman even gloated that I will now be plagued with sales calls all day. I have told them now that I am recording calls and will be sending them to trading standards,
If they continue to ring I am going to start blowing a referee whistle down the phone at them.:mad:0 -
Hi, I actually fell for this earlier, Just took over a new business, i have had 50 calls, some abusive,as i had them on loud speaker, they called me names and all sorts. I actually managed to get the number. It gets worse, i thought i had dodged them, then I guy called saying he was phoning on behalf of N Power, so I gave him all my details, these guys are good. I have now spent the night on the phone to my bank. Phoning N Power tomorrow, raging,The number i got is the main company and they put you through to these idiots. 08455436679.0
