Evening all, Bob I hope things are looking up for DD, and Karma I hope you're celebrating! ;)

I've had a slightly productive evening - got some of my holiday photos printed (Photobox site, 50 free prints when you join, only cost me £1.50 postage) so been playing about trying to do something 'artistic' with them - think I need to get them in a bigger size to look good on the wall though so will have to order some more. Still got some free credits left though! ;)

Also found another Spanish evening class which is about five mins from my house, a lot more convenient than the one I was going to go for, as it means I can come home, have tea and then just pop up the road! Doesn't start till end of Sept but I need to get the form (and cheque) in ASAP so will do that tomorrow.

Had quite a strange experience tonight as well - last week I had a message on Facebook from a girl I went to school with, we weren't close friends but knew each other through school trips and some extra-curricular activities and always got on OK. Through her I found someone who I've known since I was a toddler, although I've not seen him for, ooh, probably 11 or 12 years when I was back at home one Christmas. We were really close as kids, and going through all that growing-up stuff, we were sort of 'girlfriend and boyfriend' when we were about 10! :o He's now "in a relationship" with a bloke so I wonder if I put him off for life... :rotfl: He was very complimentary about the photos of me on there though, which I thought was quite sweet.. :o Nice getting back in touch, but strange too.. I don't think there's anyone else other than my parents who I've 'known' for so long.

Oh and on a lighter note, my friend who's son's birthday party I'm meant to be going to at the weekend, has just told me it's fancy dress, with a pirate theme.. now where am I meant to find a parrot at this short notice....? :rotfl:

  • That's nice, i like a good old catch up.
DD is more positive now and realises she has a lot of points she can use for ucas and drama courses for uni..seems to have focussed her mind a bit.
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

Thanks, Red. I had my duty phone call to my mum, which I blitzed, kind of, cos I was so tired, saw some vintage Red Dwarf late on,that was good, and phoned my partner too, he was really pleased for me.

Ooh vintage Red Dwarf - I love Red Dwarf.. what channel? You might just sway me to finally get a Freeview box...

Meep.. (that's like an  but small pathetic one). Get paid tomorrow and I've just done my sums for the month - after everything 'essential' (bills, debts) has been paid I've got about £100 left for everything else, including food... :o

That makes signing up for an evening class a little bit difficult - the one that's near me would mean paying £65 very soon. The one that's a bit further away is £55 and I could pay that on the first day, which is after next payday.. but things look even tighter next month. Now, I don't regret going on holiday, but I did borrow some money to do it and it's put me in a bit of a mess now. In future I'll definitely be saving like I planned to do!

I really, seriously, need to get back into the £10 a day challenge. And achieve it, or at least a fair bit of it. No option really if I want to eat in October, never mind do anything else!

Oops.... sorry to hear how tight its going to be. Lots of storecupboard challenges coming your way, I think? And the £10 a day - I've made a few bits this month, but very, very patchy. Good luck - do you matched bet?

Red Dwarf - well, I'd put the freeview box on hold in view of the tight situation, but its on Dave (I love that for a channel name!). I *think* its on freeview.... they have lots of Top Gear too, and Have I GotOld News For You.

    Mmm lentils....

I've got my head round MBing but never had enough money spare to do it. Possibly not the best time to start right now. Oh how I miss the proper free Bingo days...

Ah yeah I love Dave! But you're right, I don't think the Freeview box will be getting bought this month. I might even cancel my DVD subscription, only £6 a month but I could feed myself for a week on that, just about. And I should really be concentrating on the language stuff. I wonder if I can put the subscription on hold, will look into that this evening.

Forgot to mention last night, I opened a 'shop' on Spreadshirt ages ago, sold a couple of bits through there. Remembered about it last night and logged in to find they'd had an update and all my stuff was gone, but uploaded a few new 'designs' so you never know, might make something there.

Off to walk home in the rain as penance for my bad DFW ways... :o

Spreadshirt? Sounds good, if all your stuff has gone!

Ah, you're not so wicked! May the road rise to meet you, and all that!

I think it was all gone cos they'd done an update and deleted everything, it certainly wasn't cos I'd sold loads - the way it works is you upload your own designs and they sell them for you on t shirts, bags etc, the 'profit' isn't huge but it doesn't cost anything to do so it's worth keeping it updated I think.

    Onwards and.. sideways...
