I played flute - used to love playing in orchestras. Quite out of practice these days though! The 'Maestro' programme is great - and there is something about Goldie in a suit... ;):o

    Sounds lovely!

You mentioned the ballet before, sounds like a great idea!

Now see, this is where I fall down. I talk about stuff and don't do it.....
Yep, I've been planning on doing something - adult ballet, or salsa.. and maybe pilates again.. but money and knackeredness have conspired against me recently. I'm going to have to see what the budget's like come payday (Friday - woohoo!).

Payday! Thats one thing I really don't miss about employment! Payday for me is every time I see a client, and hold the cash/cheque in my hot little hand (unless they pay on the internet, lol). Its still convenient to have a lot of my DDs go out on one day tho, and since I opened up an esave account with my own bank for the cashback (!) I can push the money back and forth very easily, and earn interest on it in the meantime.

I think in some ways that would be so much better! As long as you know there'll be enough there to pay all the essentials of course. I used to get paid weekly in cash in my first 'proper' job and it definitely had its advantages!!

  • I am very out of practice, with the violin and haven't picked one up for about 20 years......well i helped my daughter with her's but that is about it. I always talk about things but then never do them, but i made a promise to myself that if i said it on here i would do it..i think i have achieved about 60% of what i wanted to do so far, but not all. I am going to go over everything in September, when i know where i am with my work.

That's a good idea Bob - although if I did everything I rambled on about on here I'd be very busy (and even more broke than I am already)! :rotfl:

  • Only on behalf of others..not myself...my two are going through the mill about college courses this year and are on tenterhooks waiting for replies..DS is hoping to get an apprenticeship, DD2 is on a course she doesn't want to be on...so is waiting for a retake GCSE tomorrow and then will be hopefully able to enrol on another course...it's like living in a powder keg of emotions at the moment!

Ooh well done to DS and good luck to DD! Not an easy time of year for them is it? I met quite a few stressed out school leavers yesterday!
