Ooh... heck.. just found out that the info on the translation course I was looking at was out of date - the one I was particularly keen on actually starts in September.. eek.. do I go for the other one which starts in Feb.. or leave it till a year's time.. or attempt to find £342 in the next few weeks?! :eek:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Morning all, it's the weekend! Not long got out of bed, was awake earlier but couldn't be bothered moving
Going out this evening so planning a lazy day, although I do have to tackle the mountain of dishes in the kitchen, and buy some food (I suspect this will involve going to nearest shop for a loaf of bread to have with soup).
Had a really long boring day at work yesterday, quite fed up.. plus, as mentioned on the daily chat, was a bit put out by a comment from one of my colleagues about the fact I earn the lowest salary in our office (despite having similar responsibility to other people who are on higher scales). Feel quite demoralised as I think having left school 12 years ago I should be earning more than this, and I'm sick of struggling along.. but there's no quick fix answer to that
Oh well.. on the dilemma from the previous post, I've decided to just do the language courses for now, and then probably try a translation one in Feb next year, don't think I'm ready for it right now, and I certainly can't find the money.
I was also looking at courses in Indian Head Massage yesterday, something I've fancied trying for a while, and found a place near here that does one day 'taster' courses, so will give that a go when I've got a spare £95... might ask for it as a Christmas present from my parents as they usually ask what I want.
Ugh I need a good slap/ injection of positive thinking/ lottery win.... :rolleyes:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Evening Bob.. yep 12 years and no idea what I've done with them - seems like nothing very useful! But hey you're only as old as you feel..
Which makes me about 90 today! Not sure what's happened to the weekend, did nothing during the day yesterday, went out last night, really late one and spent most of today asleep or half-asleep on the sofa.. and suddenly it's Sunday night! Managed to do a bare minimum of housework (washed dishes when I had nothing left to eat off), and somehow concoct meals from the odd assortment of ingredients left in the house.
Payday on Friday and I've got about £20 left till then, should be ok as I just need some food, got no major plans to do anything much.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hi there Red, hi again Bob
Awww - you sound really tired. Partly its what you said earlier on the page, I'm sure - that when you're bored at work, you get apathetic, I remember that so well in some office jobs I've had. But, are you sure you aren't anaemic or something too? I know that can really affect me, has done in the past tho I'm in the average zone at the moment.
The other thing is coming back off a really fab holiday - needing something good to look forward to, even if its still a couple of weeks away. Have you got anything planned in the next month or so? I'm rubbish at that, I must say - but I remember it just after I get back from wherever I've been, by which time its too late, of course.....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I agree with KC, it is a mix of everything and also catty comments from office trolls..i wonder how old they are and how long it took them? When you are in your new super dooper job then you can laugh back at them..
You could say things to make them feel guilty..such as i heard how super you lot were so i took a pay cut, just so i could work with you..now i will go and demand they raise my money ASAP!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I missed the cattiness bit, tho I *read* it.... thats really horrible, it can put you back good and proper. Love the suggestion, bob, about the previous pay cut!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi Karma.. :hello:
It's definitely partly work, that vicious circle. And partly the holiday thing. Also had some hassle with OH's ex the last few days, nothing major, just her usual playing games.. but when I'm upset I can't seem to bring myself to do anything. Anyway, that has kind of blown over now.
I don't think I'm anaemic, I've been tested quite a few times in the past and always been ok - I definitely think it's more of a mental thing. Although I haven't been eating fantastically well the last week or so, will have to sort that out.
Interesting thought about the woman at work Bob, she is nearly 20 years older than me.. I think it just frustrates me that the whole system seems so unfair, but there's no point in dwelling on that. I actually did take a pay cut when I took this job - because I wanted to move here.. I have to remember that I'm generally happier than I was before the move.
Good things to look forward to... I might be going to my friend's son's 3rd birthday party next weekend, which should be fun! Weekend after have got my cousin's wedding, which I'm looking forward to though comes with all the mixed feelings involved with spending time with family and the related tensions (not sure exactly who is going, it could be 'interesting'). At least I have my outfit sorted thanks to the daily chat thread on Friday... we'll just not mention the nipple..Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
That sounds right.... you know yourself what's making you blue.... keeping an overview helps too, you're right.
Um... nipple?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Um.. yes I took some photos (now deleted) of my proposed outfit and posted them on the chat thread for opinions, everyone was really lovely and helpful. And Lenny kindly pointed out that one of my nipples looked very err obvious... there must have been a cold breeze
