:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll have to start going on the chat thread!
Off to watch Jonathon Creek now... g'night!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ho hum, still lethargic - another quiet day. I really need to go food shopping on the way home, and have a bit of a tidy up, do some washing, but it seems like a big effort  Got a busy day tomorrow though as we're enrolling new students at work, that's going to be a shock to the system!
Had to admit to myself that I'm not going to do the 10k run I was planning for next month, there's no way I can do enough training between now and then, my back is playing up this morning (too much standing around and dancing on Sat night I think.. followed by lying around on the sofa most of yesterday). I feel like I need someone to force me into the gym.. blaaaaaah....

Better to decide not to do it now, and stop beating yourself up about it honey... you're a fit and healthy person normally so it's not that you're not ift, it's just that you don't have time to train....
I was thinking, can you get an ILA grant to pay the first £200 of any course you take? I'm sure you would be entitled.... http://www.ilascotland.org.uk/ILA+Homepage.htm
I got £200 towards my book keeping course, (and it was done thru home learning college so not a mainstream college).... i think ILA have a phone number on the website.....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Thanks Maz, I'm not in Scotland though, I'm in exile south of the border
Am not sure if there's something similar in England, I know that you can get OU courses paid for now, but not sure about other ones. I shall investigate...

Have to admit i am shattered from all my boogying on sat night..all the kids determined to teach me the makarina (sp?) but my feet are not up to all of this...am finally coming around now!Plus a leetle bit of vino but not much...Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Oh.. so.. tired... but good tired today, feel like I've done a proper day's work for once! New students were enrolling at work today so been helping out with that - quite a change for me dealing with people face-to-face and actually having to 'problem solve' a bit. Had some really interesting conversations with people as well, including some who were having to do 'vocational' courses because, despite having a good degree, they couldn't get a job! Had kids running riot in the office, climbing on the desk, drawing me pictures..
Had happy enthusiastic people and seriously grumpy bad tempered people!
Ah well, feel like I've actually done something useful.. and I've gained some extra flexi-time as I didn't get home till 8pm
Watching the 'Maestro' programme about celebrities trying to be conductors, almost makes me want to play in an orchestra again, which I haven't done for.. about 10 years! And unlike the ladylike lot over on Karma's thread, I'm drinking beer.. out of, not even a pint glass, but the canDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Ladylike.... oh dear. I don't think so, Red! Mind you, there were complaints about pint pots, weren't there, soactually, you're right!
Y'know you've been talking about classes.... I've just been researching dance classes in my local town. I did ballet for years as a child/teenager, and I really grew to love it. I'm incredibly unfit now, so it wouldn't be the same, but I'd quite like to try.... are you going to do anything physical, do you think?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I played flute - used to love playing in orchestras. Quite out of practice these days though! The 'Maestro' programme is great - and there is something about Goldie in a suit...Karmacat wrote:Y'know you've been talking about classes.... You mentioned the ballet before, sounds like a great idea! Yep, I've been planning on doing something - adult ballet, or salsa.. and maybe pilates again.. but money and knackeredness have conspired against me recently. I'm going to have to see what the budget's like come payday (Friday - woohoo!).Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
