minus £3.37 spent on rubber gloves, washing up liquid and stamps = £124.69
Edited to add - how cr*p does that look in my signature?! It looks like I've only paid off £100 in a year  Ah well, at least it hasn't gone up....Debt@01/08/07 - £10493, now £9470.
Um, Squirrel - thats one *thousand* pounds, not one hundred!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Erm, yes, that's what I meant.. I think... err.. I dunno what I meant, I was just horrified at how rubbish it looked!
Ahem, anyway, in the continuing bathroom saga (exciting this, isn't it? :rotfl:), I noticed when I was in the garden that there's water dripping down the outside of the building from one of the upstairs flats, right where my bathroom wall is, so now wondering if the damp is coming from the outside rather than just condensation inside. Could be a major job for the landlady, not just a quick coat of paint...Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
You are right KC, i missed that bit....that's a lot of money when you think about it...and you have had a life as well..so brill achievement!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I think I've actually paid off about £2000, just that holiday stuff bumped it back up again, oh well I've learned my lesson (again!)
I signed up to an astrology site a while back (think it was a cashback thing, I wouldn't normally bother), and today's email is quite interesting considering my day!
Beware of spending too much time chasing your dreams.
Today has to be spent dealing with practical matters that have to be got out of the way. You may well feel quite content with your own company and making excuses for not socialising will have to be done. Others will, quite openly, let you know how much confidence they have in you.
I don't believe these things really, but...!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
- pick up package from PO - done (thanks to the lovely Louise for some Spanish books to help me in my mission! xxx)
- send off cheques for debts and rent - done (been a bit naughty and sent a bit less than normal payments on a couple, will see how things look at the end of the month and pay the rest then if it doesn't seem like I'm going to starve)
- do dishes and wipe down kitchen worktops - done
- tidy garden and pick potatoes - done (not many potatoes, everything is so wet and muddy)
- put away clothes in bedroom
Also done..
- cleared one drawer of the 'chest of drawers of terror'- two to go!
- put load of washing on
- put rubbish out
Forgot to take something off my spends, so total left is actually £117.69. Ooh.. and I just shifted some papers and found a cheque for £24.65 from Home of Research which I thought I'd banked but obviously haven't! It's already included in my extra raised total, but as I haven't spent it yet.. running total back up to £142.34!

Found a letter from a friend while I was tidying up, not been in touch with her for a while so going to sit down at some point and actually write.
No sign of the Debenhams vouchers in the post, and as there's no more post till Tuesday I think I'm going to have to spend actual money on the bits for my outfit, it'll be a Primark and/ or charity shop job I think! Vouchers will still come in handy as I suspect the wardrobe clear out mentioned above will involve chucking out quite a few tops and jumpers which are too small/ falling apart....
I like being busy! :T Time for a cup of tea, some online Spanish lessons and then a bit more 'sorting'!

I cleared out my "chest of drawers of terror" a few weeks ago and it's amazing how nice it is when going into it now knowing you don't have to fight through nonsense clothes that you never wear! Go for it!Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Ahh, this is the chest of drawers of bits of paper and cr*p - you're right though, it's very therapeutic, and I may actually be able to find things afterwards. I've yet to start on the one in the bedroom for fear of being lost in a mass of tangled tights... :eek:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
