Wow, thanks so much for that Hugo Rignold and Pastures New, guess where I'm going on monday?! I'll try phoning our local store tomorrow and see if they can pop me one aside when they come in, as knowing my luck they'll be gone before I get there, most things are!
valk_scot, I think they use it, I've hinted a few times over the last couple of weeks to no effect. I didn't realise how expensive Kenwoods were either, even second hand ones are over my budget for a few weeks. I shall still go ahead with my baking adventure tomorrow, just by hand.

I bought this for less than a tenner 6 years ago. It's used every week since then. Easy to clean and for the price I paid has been worth it. Link shows it's not available but if you can get hold of one I recommend it.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Hi Crisp £ note
I bought a silvercrest one from Lidl last week for £16. The reason why I wanted a new one was that it included a chopper which I needed, measuring jug and whisk. I still have my braun stick blender but the one from Lidl is much more powerful and just generally better in my opinion.

I've got something from next, here it is:

Great for making smoothies, blending soup, pureeing veg etc and as the bits are all detachable super simple to clean!
I'm sure a smartprice one would do just the same, only reason I got this is I had a gift voucher to use and needed one of these and didn't see anything else in Next I wanted lol!Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

I bought a James Martin (Wahl) stick blender from Netto a couple of days ago. It was a bit of a gamble as it was only £14.99 and it came with the small processor attachment and a measuring jug thingy. It works just fine.
It is two speed and best of all the 'business end' is metal. The last one I had was plastic and eventually became very mishapen due to it touching the bottom of pans still on the gas when making soup.
Actually, I am even happier now, as for the purpose of this post I have had a quick google, and found that this was approx £30 in most places, but Amazon have it reduced.
