I didn't even know they made them with non-metal blades!

I blend piping hot soup with my little Argos cheapy and it's been fine.

Get a good one, but shop around for the best price.

My Braun MR4050HC, with a little food processor attachment, was the best £29.39 I've ever spent.

Hi I got this one although it was half price so about £24.00 when I got it but its a 600watt motor and brilliant. I have now car booted all my huge Kenwood chef mixer set which took sooo much room up in the kitchen.

I use it for everything, its really convenient and is just fab.

Smoothest soups, whizzes up my lumpy sauces in no time, excellent the best I've ever used for chopping veg including carrots.

I would repleace it immediately if anything ever happened to it plus you get lots of extras with it.

My £3.96 one from Tesco was a big mistake. It melted the first time it went in soup, lifted the little bit under the blade so it couldn't be cleaned properly.

Then I went all out and got a Bamix and am thrilled with it. The little chopping unit is also excellent and can chop as little as 1 clove of garlic.

    possibly a silly question...

When people are discussing the bottom bit being plastic and melting, is that the bottom of the mixer or just the blades? Sorry, i've never used a hand blender or really seen one , and am hoping to buy one today but wanted to know what to look out for

    Thanks in advance :money::beer:

Right, so i finally got my hand blender! Bought this one from tesco (another pic) . £15 and it has the blender bit (which is stainless steel), a chopping attachment (brill ) and a jug and a whisk attachment . I have used all 3 and must say it is fabulous. Definitely worth the money. And it works perfectly in hot soup. Tried and tested :D

    :hello:

I've been looking for some sort of food processor for a while, just to make life a bit easier.

    1. I don't want to spend a load of cash on something that never gets used.
    2. I haven't got too much space (i.e. none!)
    3. I want both a mixer and a chopper.
    4. I already have a basic electric whisk and stick blender (the £5.00 sort)

So what do you think to this?

It seems to fit the bill. I like the fact it's got a masher. I suspect some of you might say that it won't be robust enough, but bear in mind I cook fairly sporadically, and I'm unlikely to overwork it. Plus it's cheap enough that if I had to replace it in a couple of years, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Plus, a little bird tells me that if I'm a very good boy then Father Christmas might look kindly on me. ;)

I'd appreciate your views, especially if you've got one (the blender, not a view! :p).

    Cheers,
    MBE

That's a doozie MBE, its 700w which is might powerful for a hand blender, and it will do all the jobs you need it for, and more, I have a Breville one which is similar but it only has the puree stick, the whisk and the multi chopper and jug. I tend to mostly use the puree stick and the mini chopper because I mostly use my knife and board for chopping etc. Its fab for pureeing sauces and soups and the whisk is good for eggs and sauces - white sauce, custard and so on. (Mine was £30 I think in Mr T)

I would just say make sure you are going to use all the bits, don't waste your money and space on something you don't use. I cook for four on a daily basis, and bake daily too, and would never use all the attachments with the Kenwood one.
