  • Hey KK,

Your doing really well! The only thing I would say is I think you need to re look at your SOA as if your cutting down your debt payments to cover mot's and birthdays etc then you arent budgetting for these things through the year.

You should be putting money into a side account monthly for these so the money is there when they come up, this means that each month your debt payments may be slightly less but when the things come up you will already have the money there for them and those months you'll still be making the same regular payment.

    Hope that makes sense!

Hi eamd, thankyou for the helpful advice!! I agree, we def need to put money aside each month for these bills, we are just starting on our debt free journey and we havent put any aside for this years tax and mot but from now on we are putting money aside for next years. this is probably why we are in debt in the first place!! just not budgeting very well.. im still learning! thankyou tho.

well a NSD yesterday for me and OH, im off work friday and cant wait!! it cant come quick enough!! I was meant to be having a few drinks round the inlaws on friday night but my bro has asked me to do another taxi for him so ive turned down the drink to do the taxi run!! im so proud of myself, it might not seem a big deal to others but to me. its really a big step!!
    plus, i earn myself £30!!

  • I was in a similar position when I started in October, it does take a few months to get yourself sorted out and to see things starting to work but you do get there eventually :rotfl:

Hi everyone, ive been away from the site for a while, ive had a few setbacks and now starting to get back on my feet, I really didnt think that I could stick to my moneysaving plan and while I have veered off the straight and narrow a few times, i havent gone too mad and have still managed to clear a bit of debt.

It might seem a small amount in the amount of time it took but im so proud of myself and its all thanks to this site.

Just wanted to let evryone know that im back and ready for action this time... bring it on!!!

Ive just reclaimed £1428 bank charges, well. I received that but I only claimed £1000!! And guess what, instead of splashing out, ive put it all onto my mbna credit card (sig updated)!! good start!!

Im going to keep posting this time... thanks guys

Less Oh dear more :j for clearing around 25% in less than a year. Looks like you have done well even considering the setbacks which nearly all of us have.
