hey Tallie, thanks for posting... im not sure about me giving you tips, I think it should be the other way round!! you seem to be doing great!!
Well a no spend day again today, just feeling really down, It just seems that because I cant really afford to do anything.. all the best films are out, all our friends are arranging nights out and weekends away and everyone is going on holiday!! ahhhhhh:mad:
I must say one thing tho, although ive got a lot on my mind at the moment, im sleeping a lot better and weve both lost weight!! not through lack of food... more from the quality of food! im making a lot of meals from scratch (courtesy of the OS board) and im amazed at the taste and the amount you can make with just basic ingredients, also making a lot of different things for lunches at work and i must say im really enjoying it... ooooh that sounds a bit sad!
Another thing, I think my OH and I are really benefiting from not always being on the go, weve had a lot more quality time together, going for walks, visiting family and just chiling out really, its doing us the world of good.. has anyone else felt like this? I mean yes its stressful but i actually enjoyed a nice relaxing bath and started reading a book which I havent done for ages!
bit of a long post today... feels like its been a long week already and only tuesday! made a lovely risotto for dinner.. better than takeaway!
hope ur all doing well

hi k,
i agree and its like i said yesterday its because we realise that you dont need money to do the good things in life but more of a security thing! You sound like your going through the same emotions as me but hey we are racking up these NSDs! Just another 27 to go!!! Seriously, its good that you have time for each other and shows how much money we must waste when we dont realise it!
I was having lunch with a sales colleague today - on the company credit card of course! - and I always thought he had a good financial grip on things. But he is cutting down on Sky, shopping etc in fact all the things we talk about on here!
I think we have all thought it has been a long week but its the start of a long battle but together and with the support of all the others on here,we can make it! We will just bounce off each other when we feel down!
Take care

Hi KK.
Sounds like you're doing great... Try to get through this month as well as you can. It's true that when you are watching the pennies you spend more quality time on yourself and with other people. I remember spending whole sundays just pampering myself and curling up on the sofa with a good book or a dvd i hadnt watched for ages... or just catching up with family/friends on the phone... which then leads to them popping to see you which is always nice.
Keep up the good work xxLast bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
Thanks cc, having a really down time at the minute
spent money in the chip shop last night that we didnt really have.
why oh why cant we just stop spending
im really upset with myself but i guess we can only move forward now and i spose it wasnt that much money.
had a no spend day today and got some free milk and diet coke from work.
my partner has got her 3 younger siblings staying round tomorrow night! 2 boys aged 8 and 13 and her sister 12. im gonna go spend the night at my mums as our little flat will be a bit crowded!! instead of going to the shop and buying them loadsa choccies and crisps, ive spent this evening making fairy cakes!! how sad am I!?
quite enjoyed it actually!!
well... managing to keep my bank under control... few more direct debits to come out but theres enough in there, will just be up to the limit... OH's bank will be a bit over the overdraft limit which we'll get charged for but hopefully we can make some money from bootsales and im doing some cleaning saturday morning which will be £20 cash in hand, so every little helps!
im dreading the temptation of the weekend, hopefully get some overtime tomorrow night, then go straight to my mums, up early for the cleaning, then popping round to see my friend... I want to stay as busy as possible so I cant think about how skint i am!!
hows everyone else doing? hopefully well.

hi k,
Sorry I tried to post the other night and it kept crashing when I sent it! Hope you're ok hun, don't beat yourself up over the chippy, we all do it! I nearly had another NSD yesterday but my partner was coming to mine and had to go to Tesco and spent £9.65. I am dreading the weekend too like you, so I have pulled out all old paperwork and any other bits and pieces that dont cost and am going to spend my time doing these, so I feel organised and dont spend money! The fairy cakes is a great example of what we miss out on when we have the urge to spend!
Sweetie, you're doing well and you will have moments when you are down, but Ithink the secret is to keep posting on here and we can all help each other! Hope you're night away was ok and that you have a good Saturday!

Baking cakes is great! I did that a lot when i was clearing my debt.
If you get really desperate try going through all your handbags...its amazing how much money i found at the bottom of them when i went through them all, not to mention other stuff i forgot i even had!
If you are struggling with things to do at the weekend there's Basfest this weekend. Entry is free and will keep you both busy and entertained for a few hours. theres a programme on the council website if you want to see whats on.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
