My Energy use Diary

Just entered my readings.
Both gas & electricity down a shade this week (in fact my average daily electricity useage is my lowest figure ever at 9kWh/day) - but this will be helped by the fact I spent all Saturday (and Saturday night) at DD's house on baby sitting duties (she was away for a 25th Birthday Party). So my laptop was on over there instead of here, and DS doesn't know how to over-ride the timer for the heating
Still on a 'C' rating though(And showing as 4/53 in the Carbon Club)

Thank you, Cheryl, you have inadvertently answered my question about all electric houses. Your comparisons are against gas/electric houses and show, "Your results are being compared with the averages of 291 households". When I set mine to compare with all electric houses, that number reads as 0, which suggests that every household registered on i-measure is gas/electric. HOWEVER, when I set to compare mine against ALL HOUSEHOLDS, it reads the following: "Your results are being compared with the averages of 291 households". Does that mean there are only 292 households registered on i-measure and mine is the only all electric one? I'm still reading 'E' rating and 22/53  The i-measure site is wonky. :rotfl:
PS: I am still line drying whenever I get the chance, wind blowing is certainly never a problem where I live, I just need it to stop raining so much.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

:rotfl: I think I prefer the term, 'oddly eccentric' as I know loads of others like us, they just aren't as [STRIKE]daft[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]extreme[/STRIKE] dedicated with regards to being 'behind the times'. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

I am still attempting to line dry but it is difficult finding a day that stays dry. Stuff is def not coming in dry but I think the line drying makes them smell fresher and takes some of the wet out of them (unless it rains on it of course  ). But we only have a tiny back yard so unless it's really breezy we don't get a lot of air circulating...
Usually finish the clothes off either over radiators or in TD (emergency only).0 -
Did anyone else see the imeasure email to say we'll soon be able to input our own tariff details? She says it won't be particularly sophisticated for people on complex tariffs but it will def be a big improvement. They are also looking for other suggestions re how to improve the site using the site's wiki tool (I'm afraid the issue of what a wiki is is beyond me, is it the bit on the LHS of the site??). I guess it's worth making a concerted effort if there's anything we want, although she is clear that this is a limited resource which is fair enough, and anything costing a lot of time or money is out.0

I haven't received my newsletter this week and haven't been getting the reminders for adding my details, not sure what's happened to them.
On an energy saving note, the weather has been milder today and I haven't had to light the fire - saves me nearly £2 on logs & coalI reserve the right not to spend.

normally - didn't work this time thoughso long as the aire is dry and you have a bit of wind or good sunlight it works. In the alley way they can be reasonably dry in a couple of days and finished off in doors on the clothes horse. Nothing like the fresh smell of the winter air on clothes.

Thanks for that. That is useful to know. It's raining today but I don't think I'll do any washing anyhow. I'll let you know how I get on.:D

Really strong clothes pegs needed here these past few days but sheets and towels are being blown practically dry in under an hour. The only problem I face is having to retrieve stuff from the field if the pegs don't hold when it's been near gale force here. :rotfl: Tumble drier has now been given away, so I don't have that option and I don't miss it. But there are only 3 of us here and I do have 2 airers and a dehumidifier.
Not looking forward to tomorrow's reading as I have had the washing machine on almost every day and the oven has been in full use every day while batch cooking and baking, so I'm expecting the electricity be a few pounds dearer this week. To counteract that, though, there were a couple of days where I didn't bother kindling the fire as the extra heat from kitchen was enough. :T Swings and roundabouts, but it's still a lot cheaper and much warmer in this house than in the last one. :TI reserve the right not to spend.
