    Sorry - hadn't put my brain into gear this morning !!! Meant it's now at -20, but was previously -10

    That's what comes of an early call from DD asking me to pick her up and run her to work, as she missed the only bus that will get her there anything like on time :rolleyes:

    I've just about manged to convince the built in fridge to drop to a shade under 5 degrees -- anything below that (managed to get it to about 3.5 degrees) and I end up with a sheet of ice in the back of it :eek: I don't like that I only have one control for both the fridge and the freezer though :o When it decides to pack in on me, I think that will be time to re-do the entire kitchen so I can put in individual units!! (The house is only 7 years old, but - despite being here since it was built - I still don't find the layout very 'user friendly')

    (going back to amend post now!)

    ETA: My new freezer is also an 'A' rated, and the 'blurb' quotes 254kWh a year.

    Wow amazing usage figures!

    F4L - hope you have got your CH repaired:snow_laug

    Still not fixed yet I'm afraid. Snow's gone thankfully so hopefully that's the end of the cold spell and no frozen pipes.
  • just got email from imeasure and there's a link to an article about an electric refuse truck powered by the waste it collects - and it's in the town near me! I hadn't heard about it though :confused: perhaps it will become more popular if it works, interesting anyway.

  • Hi all, just popping by to say I haven't got a read for this week, been away from home since the weekend and staying till next weekend. I did take a read before I left and it made depressing reading but I'm figuring by the time we've been away for a week it will even out and I might even manage that elusive C.

    Good luck with the carbon footprint in this weather by the way!

    Well, as expected, my weekly readings were higher because of all the washing, cooking and baking I have been doing but they still aren't as bad as a year ago in a different house when I take the price increases into consideration.

    I was getting quite concerned about the amount imeasure was telling me I was spending on gas since I had have been taking readings for 22 weeks and it said about £600.00 odd-then I realised that I had my gas meter changed by the metering company and it now measures in cubic metres whereas I had registered on my old meter which was in cubic feet-total spend looks much better now! Also my carbon rating shot up from an E to a C and I'm 10/53 in the carbon club-is that good or bad-don't know how to read that?

    Since you started measuring your total household -
    Energy use is 7,918 kWh
    (Gas: 6,315kWh | Electricity: 1,603kWh)
    Carbon emissions are 2,139 Kg CO2
    (Gas: 1,301 Kg CO2 | Electricity: 838 Kg CO2)
    Money Spent
    How has my energy spend been calculated?
    Last week you spent:
    · £38.40 on gas
    · £9.60 on electricity
    Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (22 weeks ago):
    · £221.02 on gas
    · £192.36 on electricity

    'C' is nice to be on it means you're using between 60 and 80% compared to everyone else on average.

    Well done way to go.:T

    Last week you spent:
    £1.54 on gas - 44kwh
    £2.52 on electricity - 21kwh

    Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (12 weeks ago):
    £31.41 on gas
    £31.80 on electricity

    A carbon rating.
  • This is annoying it's been nearly two weeks since the gas central heating has packed in and still no response from the landlord.

    I'm on a C 22 / 48.

    You have been taking readings for 28 weeks

    Last week you spent:

    * £0.00 on gas
    * £11.76 on electricity

    Total you have spent on energy since starting imeasure (28 weeks ago):

    * £82.20 on gas
    * £90.48 on electricity

    Your results are being compared with the averages of 268 households.
