ALDI had them on sale in January this year.
We bought ours there last year, and it had a metal element not a glass one. It is used almost daily with no problems so far.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

Update..and apologies to Ideal World for me doubting them, they telephoned me at home yesterday,(6 days after my Email) to say Yes my Halogen Oven was covered by the 2year EU guarantee(or something like that),and if i pack it up complete with all accessories they have arranged free collection Wed 13th,and will either replace or repair..Fantastic service,i am pleasantly suprised by ideal world(and quite happy to have 2 halogen ovens cos i bought the Costco one...;rolls eyes;;))Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

My halogen oven which I'd had for nearly 2 years (element style heating element) gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago (I suspect #2 son dropped it on the floor
) so bought a Costco one for £35 from Milton Keynes today.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
I had mine for 15 months but then suddenly one day as it switched off on timer it tripped out the electric system with a vengeance. We isolated the problem to the cooker (which in every other way was still working I mean it was still cooking but doing this trip out every time it stopped). Our electrician even tested our RCD and the trip box itself..he tested the cooker and it showed no problem but he took it to his home and the cooker tripped out his system too! What is going on ..can anyone advise? I have written to Coopers but they are slow to respond.0

Hi not sure if there is a thread about halogen cookers, I have just bought one and the instructions are not very good, I have just ordered some cooking books, but have to wait for them to arrive, does anyone have some good simple recipes, if so that would be great thanks.:o0

Hi Has anyone done any baking in their halogen oven? I use mine for joints and roast veg, sausages etc but do not trust it to bake goods or yorkshire puds.0

@grannigrunt: I have made cookies and cupcakes in mine, I lower the temperature a bit else the outside cooks and the inside isn't quite done but it worked out well when I turned the temp down a littleCredit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

I'm thinking of taking the plunge here and buying one, mostly to cook real jacket potatoes! There are 2 I have seen that look decent value but I'd appreciate some input:

Any thoughts? I'm leaning towards the Robert Dyas one0
