Wessex Teak are evil, I tell you. Evil. Evilllleeeeee!
No, I haven't bought anything from 'em. But considering the amount of trolly suspect sub-double figures posts in their favour on here, you gotta have something to balance the thread out...
They are the devil's teats. Not related to the dog's ********.0 -

....And your 'opinion' is valid in what way exactly?
I see no Trolls...the odd muppet perhaps, but I guess that's to be expected...
This thread is about peoples concerns and complaints...I've tried to give a perspective from the other side, without that, little would make sense to the genuine posters on this thread...
So please if you don't have anything useful or relevent to say, just be quiet.0 -
A google search for "Wessex Teak" shows their website at #1, and this thread at #3. Ouch.
Somebody needs to invest in a good marketing campaign to get that sorted!
From what I can see on here though, their attitude to Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired. From the Basil Fawltey school of hospitality!?<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Bit childish arent you...GROW UP!!!
considering that I carry (by myself) tables weighing in excess of 85KG, I aint exactly a nine stone weakling...
Big warrior behind that keyboard, aren't you mind...
But in truth I can't be arsed with people like you.
But I'll tell you what I'll do...if you don't stop spouting rubbish and flaming behind your keyboard...I'll simply put it in the hands of the mods...ok. Problem solved.0 -

Yes. Not an unreasonable observation. OTOH as to the rest of your five posts... you, yourself, aren't a mod nor the board owner. It isn't up to you, nor do you have the authority, to tell people to 'be quiet'. However much you would clearly like to silence criticism of Wessex Teak, you have no power here to do so. What the mods choose to do is up to them: if you want to give them instructions as to what they should do...
That said, I will in fact shut up now (of my own choice, not because you have any power to make anyone do so). Since I haven't purchased from WT. I am sure someone who has had a terrible experience with them will be along within a month, based on previous posters!0 -
You really still don't get it do you?
Why do I post in defence of wessex teak...Because I've worked for them for some time...Because I've personally seen and dealt with hundreds if not thousands of satisfied customers...but you don't hear a lot from them, and if you do people automatically seem to assume they must be Wessex teak 'plants'.
I know that regardless of the issues that sometimes have taken place, my job, and that of some other good people is dependent on good will and word of mouth.
I've always done my job, as best as I could. I've only had problems with a couple of customers personally, and that's because they were behaving in a fashion which I found unacceptable (long story), and, I firmly believe that most people would have felt the same as myself.
I've tried to point out on here the issues that do lurk behind delivery schedules...being held to ransom by the container companies, late containers, containers delivered out of sequence which throw off the entire delivery schedule.
I have no wish to silence people, only to balance things out and to give information which makes the picture clearer.
I am not working for anyone right now, having been a victim (like many others) of this recession.
I personally believe that though wessex teak did have problems at times, the staff that caused those problems have gone, and while occasionally problems will arise (as they do with any company) there has been a big improvement in customer service (despite what you may sometimes read)
I will be, hopefully returning to work next year...and I look forward to not only getting a few bob in my pocket (don't we all) but to continue to deliver to people and to give to them the customer satisfaction that I have done each and every day that I personally worked for them.
I'd be willing to bet that if you asked any customer that I personally delivered to what they thought of my delivery...the words..friendly, helpful, and honest would be what you would be told...
While I am not sure that I can solve every problem...I don't really have that say, to be honest, I do what I can.
I'm a working bloke and I try my best for any of my customers.

I've registered at this forum to outline one of the most ridiculous phone calls I've ever had the misfortune of receiving.
A little background: we ordered a table/chair set from Wessex Teak in March 2010 and to their credit the order was completed and delivered quickly, modulo a small amount of confusion with delivery dates. The furniture we received was of a good standard.
Anyway, fast forward to Wednesday of last week when my wife decided she might order some small bits and bobs from them to match our furniture. A parasol stand and some cushions I think. After not hearing anything from them by 4.30pm the following Monday (today), she cancelled the order, informing the people at Wessex Teak by means of the following e-mail:
Please cancel this order. It was placed over 4 days ago and I have not
been contacted. This customer device is appalling.
I've just had a phone call from Wessex Teak, who wanted me to tell my wife to stop being so horrible. You possibly need to read that again: the guy actually rang my home so that he could instruct me to tell my wife not to be quite so horrible. Slightly riled, and after calling the man an idiot and several derivatives thereof, I asked him what he was hoping to achieve with this phone call. Apparently he was just handing out free lessons in life - he just wanted her to know that "she can't go through life being quite so horrible".
I've never, ever experienced such a lack of professionalism from a company. Steer clear.0 -
Hi there,
PLEASE AVOID WESSEX TEAK!!!
I didn't read and now I am trying to get back from them close to 1400£!!!! I am in touch with trading standards and in process of sending them official letters.
I can confirm that there is NO costumer service and if you get to talk to someone they are very rude!!!0 -
Hi Dinosek!
I too am in your position. I am disappointed that TS and Police have not yet made them cease trading, although TS seemed quite aware of who I was speaking about (in a professional way - they seem pro-active). I am following legal procedures also.
People, please consider very carfeully where you buy. Its just too much grief to place that internet order & then spend months trying to get your money back.
ALSO - some businesses like you to pay by BACS and not credit card. I know, I know section 75 etc, silly idea etc; but no, stupidly I paid it direct out of the goodness of my heart to help a fellow small company. DON'T DO IT.
Greetings to all my fellow contesters and good luck.0
