Just to add also,
Being I will no longer be paying my Lloyds Loan directly to them, I read somewhere I needed to cancel my loan ins, guess what, in the week I cancelled d/d, took cash out, and then rang to cancel said ins.
Apparently we have to run through new application! Whatever, so we start this, get so far in and chap says, sorry, your account is with our collections department. Why, I asked, he said I will have to give you their number.
Call the collections department, (knowing that I had paid on time since the first payment and the full amount as agreed) rude women asks for loan number etc, I then ask her why my account is with them, she has no idea. She said it's in branch you need to go in and see them??????
Hmmmm, can't cancel ins as account seems to be where ever with Lloyds and they can't cancel it!
I suspect fould play. Anyone else had this problem?
Next month, yes my account will be with collections, have they got a crystal ball?0 -
Welcome to the world of incompetance that is Lloyds TSB
Just keep a record of all your attempts to do things and then complain. I'm in the process of doing so now, not sure who to send it to though.
In my case I notified them of my trouble in Feb and they only starting acknowledging my letters in May, had they been a bit quicker, I could have avoided over £300 of charges. So I'll be asking for them back!LBM : March 2008

I have 2 accounts and we have 2 credit cards with Lloyds TSB and we are on a dmp. I have had no acknowledgement from them what so ever for the 4 accounts and have had charges added for the past 2 mths.
I feel they are ignoring me so it means they add more interest and fees.
I have had a default from Natwest and they haven't even stopped interest and Ive just had a default letter from Goldfish and they haven't stopped interest either.
So far Ive had Next stop interest and Evans.
To be honest if they are going to default me Id rather they did it sooner rather that later as its on for 6 years isn't it.0 -
Hi Griswold,
The way I found best to deal with lloyds is to write recorded delivery. Get the proof of delivery and phone them. If they deny receiving anything (which they probably will) then quote the proof of delivery. I was lucky and had readable signatures on mine. They immediately changed their tune and sorted a payment plan. I do want to claim the charges back though. As they could have dealt with it a lot quicker.
As for defaults, all my 15 creditors have defaulted me, but it took up to 3 months with some. I'm not bothered about my credit file so waiting for them to disappear is no big deal for me.LBM : March 2008

Won't most accounts take a few days to transfer the money. How are you going to manage as you can't have an overdraft though?

I started my dmp on the 1st July. M and S and John Lewis have accepted and frozen interest, but I've still to hear from Natwest (OD, loan and CC) Barclaycard, Littlewoods and Grattan. Does anyone know what Natwest's response is likely to be? I haven't had any telephone calls yet ( another reason that I advised Pinksparkle to tell OH, as he is going to wonder what is going on)

I would be interested to know about Natwest too. I haven't heard a thing off them since I stopped paying them a couple of months ago. I have an Overdraft and Loan with them and although CCCS are paying a little in it's nowhere near what my payments were and though I would have heard off them. No news is good news I hope.

Hi all,
been having more fun with Great Universal catalogue. I've lodged an official complaint which they are "looking into".
Not only did they "lose" lots of my payments, refuse to speak to me on the phone about it, promise to ring me back and never did. When eventually all that was sorted out, my account was paid off completely - Hurrah.
In fact, due to all their messing about they were paid £1 too much. So they then sent me a letter asking me to pay -£1 or they would start arrears collection proceduresSo I ignored it. They sent me another one. So I rang and asked how I was meant to pay a minus figure and how they thought they could ever get a court judgment for the sum of -£1  All they did was pass me from department to department till I got sooo angry that I asked for a complaints address.
They got a snotty letter saying how impossible they were to deal with, how they never answered any of my letters and how I had planned to keep my account open (though it might help the credit rating in the long run for when my debts are paid off), but that I no longer wanted to deal with them and could they close my account.
I got notification that they would write about my complaint within 2 weeks.
Then yesterday I got a letter from a debt recovery agency saying they were going to issue a statutory default!!! So I rang them and complained and they refused to give me any address to complain to and told me they didn't have an address!! I asked what the address on the headed paper was - a phantom address and she said "yes - er no, er " She said she could ask a manager to ring me back but that would take two weeks  Apparently they don't have managers you can speak tooShe then told me that my account isn't on their system because of my complaint and that I had to complain to Great Universal. I asked who I could write to at their company and she said there wasn't an address. So I said if I refer it to the Financial Ombudsman - who will he write to then????
Will be drafting another letter for Great Universal tonight
They don't even have the CCA and I only stopped going down that route because they found the missing payments - but now I've paid them off they are still causing so much hassle!!!
Ps.... the debt was for the full sum of......... £60!!! :mad:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Had to tempt fate. Just as I thoought things were getting sorted, HSBC have contacted me and are no longer prepared to accept my payments. Instead they want 30% more. This is just for my credit card but I also have loan and overdraft with them and they are my biggest creditor. Does anyone have any experience with them? Am terrified that they will start legal action and if I get a CCJ, I lose my career (am a legal exec and can't have any CCJs). Help!0
