Glad it all went OK for you. You too have a good day!
  • Please imagine a half dozen or so expletives here......
    @@@@@****!!!!

    And a few more here
    !!!£$$$@@££!!!

***king CCCS have really ballsed things up for me.

When I realised a few weeks ago that their method of apportionment didn't suit what I wanted (and wasn't as I was led to believe) AND that they had a few figures wrong anyway, I told them to STOP. Hold off, don't send anything to my creditors. They agreed. A chap I spoke to weeks ago said nothing had gone out to my creditors and that nothing would go out. As I say, this was a few weeks ago.

Recently, I decided on a DIY DMP and sent my letters off at the end of June and have been waiting for responses...

I got a letter at the weekend from HFC saying so long as I paid £xx per month, they would play nice and suspend interest and charges. Their figure of £xx was about £10 higher than my apportionment offered them. I figured they were trying it on.

I called them yesterday and they said that the figure of £xx came from CCCS and that, having accepted it, they would take a dim view of being offered an even lower amount.

I called Egg today and got the same story. (they too have suspended interest and charges)

CCCS has written to all my creditors, even though I told them not to and they told me I was in time to stop them from sending out letters.

Lloyds phoned the home number a couple of times on Saturday (2 calls within 5 minutes and both calls abandoned by them when I answered) and again yesterday. Yesterday, they were told to do it in writing as instructed - end of call!

On the plus side, MBNA have stopped RMA from calling and they have accepted the amount I have offered.

Gawd knows when Lloyds will respond in any meaningful way!

    More expletives here!!!!

Quick question if the creditor accepts the offer made, and its not much less than the payment you were originally paying, might they not default you???

    Hello Pinky,

I think you're looking for an answer that doesn't exist. The only certain thing is that the same company will treat two similar debtors in completely different ways.

I neither know nor care at this point whether I get defaults or not. They make no difference to how much I can afford to pay now or in the near future. I will worry about my credit rating in 10 years time when my DMP comes to an end.

Egg have filed defaults already (as soon as I wrote to them) Beneficial Bank have done 'something' to my credit file although it's not a default. Dunno what MBNA have done but they have suspended interest and charges and accepted my offer.

Lloyds bank? I don't know what they are doing. Neither do they. I have sent them 3 letters. I get no answers. I just get standard 'pay up or else' nastygrams from them.

Hi everyone i have not posted for a while but keep reading seeing how everyone s getting on .Everyone has accepted my DMP now they are northern rock ,MBNA ,2 loans with Lloyds ,Lloyds overdraft and Lloyds credit card .
Lloyds credit card have been the most difficult and only just accepted after 5 months and me keep phoning them to ask .Its not all great they say they dont stop interest altogether they are still charging interest but at a reduced rate .Has anyone else been told the same ? They have stopped all charges which i suppose helps .

I am really concerned when my fixed rate deal on the morgage ends in March 2009 only 8 months away my interest only morgage will probely go up what am i going to do then ? Just when i am thinking my DMP is working well its in the back of my mind that i will have to reduced my payments to CCCS and my creditors are not going to be happy .

    Hi,

Now they've accepted your DMP it might be worth trying to reclaim all those charges. I claimed back of Vanquis who then went on to accept my DMP. It reduced my debt by £150 and my DFD by 2 months. Yey me! Gonna try it with the rest of them now.

  • Hi All

Just thought I'd give you an update. DMP started with PP, all setup and 1st payment is going out 1st of August. PP has sent out all letters, new bank account setup. Changed all my priority DD (nightmare!).

However NR keep phoning from 6pm till 9pm (when I get home) . Its crazy how they operate. Each person I speak to does not know about the last call. I'm averaging about 3 - 4 calls a night at the mo.

I'm feeling pretty confident at the mo ? NR are asking to see my I&E. I'm getting prepared for them in slating it and asking for more money. FAT CHANCE !!!!
  • Ghost hunter,

If you don't have enough money to pay your creditors what they want then that's just too bad for them. They will not go bust just because you reduce your payments. Nobody will die, the sun will still come up tomorrow (it may be obscured by the sodding rain clouds though - and that's not your fault either!).

If the paper forms are bothering you, go to the CCCS web site. www.cccs.co.uk and fill in a form online there. You don't have to talk to anyone and you can save it and come back later if you need to. They have suggested figures for some of the more obscure items too.

You don't have to identify yourself to CCCS unless you want to so you could just use the site as a useful starting point.

Stick here with the rest of us. It gets better.
  • Did anyone else see a post from Ghost Hunter?

I posted up a response but the post I was responding to has gone! I know I saw it....

Maybe t was a ghost post? Spooky!

I agree, I did all mine online and didn't speak to anyone throughout the whole process. I have now made 2 payments to cccs and still haven't spoke to them and all my phone calls from creditors have stopped and most of them have accepted my DMP (9/11 officially accepted, haven't heard a thing off the others). It does get better, TRUST US!

  • ... and if he just happens to check his credit file in the meantime... or applies for finance of any kind... ???

It's your decision but if that happened to me and I found out by accident - especially at the point of applying for something - I'd feel very hurt and betrayed. I would also think "if she can hide this from me, what other secrets does she have"

Really think you're making a HUGE mistake not telling him.

If he applies for his credit file, it wont say that im on a DMP, he wont know any of my history, its his credit file, isnt that right???

Also me being on a DMP wont affect him to that extent of being accepted for credit, Besides he has one loan that he took out recently that is over 5 years, he has a cc that has a zero balance. Luckily one of us is good with cash...
