Can i be part of this wonderful group?
Im in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS.
I owe 35k to 6 creditors, my monthly payment comes out at £303, i should be paying £745 p/month...
Hoping i can bring my DFD date forward with overtime from work.
How long does it normally take to set up a DMP?
Thanks all0 -

Hello there, of course you can
Have you spoken to CCCS - they are who we are with too and they have been lovely. Initially we did the "online debt remedy" and then CCCS sent our pack out which took about 2 weeks to receive (the first pack had gotten lost). Once we'd sent the initial token payment letters with £1 each the actual DMP payments were set up. I would say it took about 2 months to get up and running properly. The first month was for the token payments and the second month was when our first main payment was made on 1 June and the CCCS pay everyone around 25th of the month.
In the meantime, I/we avoided the phone - yes, the calls can become problematic. Those creditors that we did speak to were simply told that "we are on a DMP with CCCS and they will be contacting you shortly with details of our payment offer". Most of the creditors were okay with that (we have 14 in total).
Good luck on your journey - you've come to the right place for support along the way.

Hi all, hope everyones ok and coping with the christmas pressure!
Got a postcard through the mail today from MBNA saying they are "calling" on thursday between 9am and 8pm, phone such a number if inconvenient.
No signature or name or anything to really say who it was from except very small print at the bottom.
Is this just an underhand way of trying to get you to talk to them on the phone by scaring you into thinking they are going to call at your house?
I think(hope:eek: ) it is, just wondered if anyone else had had similar.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -

I have had similar to you from MBNA. The company that sent the post card was Ageis. I phoned them and that it was inconvenient to send someone round. Yes I think that it is a way to scare you. I have not had a post card since, but they have not accepted my payment yet as they said it is incomplete as they want my OH details.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

Well when I asked them that question they just said that they are working on behalf of MBNA. ( so I don't know what that means) I am negotiating with my own creditors as well. At the moment I have not been able to come to an agreement with MBNA either. I have just been paying them this set amount.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

Same here, they keep cashing the cheque that DH sends but have not actually formally agreed to the reduced payment. Will have to wait and see what happens, at the end of the day they can't have what he hasn't got.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080

Just noticed your signature Catwoman did you reclaim yor bank charges recently, (well done with that btw:j ) , only I am thinking of putting in a claim under the hardship rules, wondered if anyones had any success going down that route. That would all but wipe out my debt with the bank.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080

The bank charges were earlier in the year, before the court dates. I have not claimed any credit card charges back yet though.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

Hi all! :j
I am glad I am not the only getting confused by the too-ing and fro-ing with DCA's and creditors. I just wish they would write and say 'we are not dealing with you anymore please send all future payments to blah blah blah'
We have been contacted by Portland for Monument, Moorcroft for Halifax and NDR for Littlewoods. We don't know whether to start sending payments to these now as we haven't really had confirmation but do you get confirmation? I don't want to pay these and then get letters from the creditors for non payment if you get what I mean?
I don't want to deal with Moorcroft as they have a bit of a reputation for being noobs, when we first received a letter from them we replied that we are on a DMP and going through CCCS, they have now sent a letter to OH's MUM's house!! I suppose they got his last known address from the creditors when we split up. I give up writing to these divs I really do!
I have been searching on the net for ppi terms and conditions and feel really hopeful about our refund claim. I know I have to be realistic but IF they are successful the refunds could wipe out our debt or at least make a massive dent in it, to be debt free in 2009 rather than 2023 ahh I wish
fingers crossedDMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0
