I've just checked the account today and before my rent SO could be taken out Cheque centre have put through 4 transactions as debit card payments
£110, £110, £100 & £100 = £420

Hi Lula
So sorry to hear of your troubles. Nasty, that's what they are.
Anyway, it may be worth giving your "old" bank a call as soon as you can in the morning and see whether they can put a stop on the transactions - tell the bank that these people have taken unauthorised payments from your account. The bank involved with these doesnt need to know about your plans to change to another banking provider and you are still a customer of theirs. It just might be worth a try? I dont know what date they took the payments from your account but if it was on Friday then I think there would be time for the bank to stop the transactions.
I know it's probably a long shot, but they have taken money without your permission. Fingers crossed for you that something can be done.
C'mon, dont give up, you can get through this and you will be all the more stronger afterwards.

Another question from me - sorry that's all I ever seem to do
I have posted before about my debt with chequecentre (pay day loan)
I've included them in my dmp and have sent them the same token payment and info as everyone else.
I have opened a new bank account and transferred my salary and all my dd's and so's to my new one except my rent - by the time my new account opened, it was too late to change the date of my SO for that so i put £450 into my old account to cover it.

I realise I owe them this money but they've had my DMP letter and I've heard nothing from them since.
They have a photocopy of my debit card which I had to give them when taking out the loan so can only assume they've just tried to put as many transactions through as possible.
Can they do this? I've had NO documentation through the post from them at all.
I can't actually believe this has happened. Now I have no money to pay my rent this month.
I know I shouldnt have put any money into that bank account but I was afraid of missing my rent payment.
I honestly dont know what to do.
Lula
You didn't give them authority to take that money so it sounds like fraud to me.
In your place, I would do ALL of the following.
Call your Bank, tell them you did not authorise these payments, see if they can be called back.
Call the police, it is no more than theft.
Get to your local Citizens Advice, see if you can get a Solicitor on Legal Aid.
You don't need to go into detail, all you have to tell them is that you did not authorise the payments.0 -

Hi Craig
Yes I have - well... i tried to. (see above posts by me)
Just make sure you close your bank account as they will have the details and will take everything you have.
Which payday loan company do you have your with?
I knew they'd be worst to deal with but never thought they'd be this bad.

You may have more luck with them than I did if they are only small (mine was £750). Good luck - I'll let you know if I have any more bother, whichI'm fairly sure I will.

Evening all!
Finally got round to sending letters off today to try and claim back ppi as OH is self employed. The people behind me in the Post Office were tutting loudly cause I took an age to get served but felt proud that I'd finally got round to doing it. We spent so long umming and aahhing over this and thought 'go for it' so it's done.
He'll probably get told to  OFF by all of them but hey it's worth a try, feel so daft asking for money back now after paying in for so long but until I found this site and researched I never fully truly understood the ppi thing. We never really read much of the small print either (who does?) but hey it's worth a try and I feel like 'Rocky' today so up for the fight
I also sent a letter to Monument to try and stop the interest and charges, they seem to be the only creditor now who are still charging us! STOP otherwise we'll never be free!!
Will let you know how we get on, best wishes to all of you xxxDMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0
