Hello folks
arrived home yesterday to 2 letters from Roxburghe DCA saying they have accepted DMP and informed me that payment has to reach them by 5th of the month, thats not going to happen as i dont pay CCCS till the first, then going on to say that if payment is not received on the 5th then i have broken agreement and they will proceed to collect full debt. I am going to forward these letters to CCCS and hopefully they will sort them out?0 -

I had a letter like that on my last DMP it just means that the payment is due on the 5th but CCCs will have already paid it on the 25th (so they will have paid it early). Don't worry they wouldn't have set the agreement up if they knew it would fail straight away.

I agree with Katie, this is nothing to worry about. Your first statement will show no payment but after that each month shows the previous months payment. As long as creditors are being paid monthly the date isn't important.
If it makes you feel better send a token payment of £1.00 for the 5th Nov but it really won't matter.

Welcome Honky Tonk - you've come to the right place :T
I can totally sympathise with you that your change in circumstances have led to where you are today. I would say our debt path began to take a nosedive after my youngest was born 9 years ago and has been in freefall ever since.
Like you, the credit well had run dry to no more robbing Peter to pay Paul, something had to change.
I am about to start my self-admin DMP (based on great advice from CCCS) and am very worried about the imminent phone calls, letters etc. However, thanks to this site I am less afraid and realise these letters are meant to intimidate and harrass us into handing over our cash (previously it was my mortgage cash - silly woman I am, just wanted a quiet life!)
I am two weeks late with my instalment to GE Money (Debenhams Account) and have already had a strongly worded default letter. Does anyone have experience with GE Money and DMP's? Are they sympathetic or as I fear, heavyhanded? No more credit for me - I will no longer live beyond my means :A
Total debt pre-1 Dec 08 DMP £43,4030 -
GE Money immediately said no they won't accept the DMP due to recent activity on the account.
Then they wrote to say yes, all charges will stop.
Then they wrote to say no, and haven't heard about a DMP.
They don't talk to the other departments
They did accept and stop all interest after a couple of months of the DMP. They then transferred the debt to CL Finance who said carry on paying what was agreed. No issues whatsoever with them.
I have just reduced my DMP payments (18 months into the DMP) and had no contact or comment from anyone other than First directworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi Ruthie,
Good on you for going it alone. Paperwork is not really my strong point, so much easier to let cccs help me thru it all!:)LBM 14/10/08 £40k+ DFW Nerd # 1075Officially a Long Hauler #149:D0 -
Thanks newlywed - am a bit more confident now that GE Money will play ball
Well done on a successful DMP - is it self-admin? I would really like to know how people get on with self-admin as opposed to the CCCS?
Hi Honky Tonk - I plan to do the self-admin as I have a large loan with the Northern Rock for £19,000 and as my mortgage is also with them am worried sick they'll go for the house if I don't pay them their payments. As it is, my sister pays this loan for me each month (£197) and if I went the CCCS route they insist I treat this the same as every other loan - meaning I lose the payment my sister makes and the risk NR will apply to make me bankrupt. Before I finally decide I have an appointment with a CCCS counsellor based in Scotland tomorrow who will be able to let me know more re that loan and the possibility of bankruptcy. No more credit for me - I will no longer live beyond my means :A

Sam,

Thanks Sam
I have had problems with Roxburghe, especially with the Carphone Warehouse bill £240+, loads of phone calls and threatening letters, sent them letter with forms from CCCS and then a week later get a action letter from their solicitor. The letters i have had regarding the DMP say that paymant needs to reach them by 5th Nov otherwise i have broken agreement etc etc. I will send copies of the letters to CCCS.
Forgive me for being a bit panicky but i suffer from anxiety and depression and i am a DMP virgin
