ooooo just had a first phone call. I saw the number come up on screen and thought 'oh god its a creditor' heart rate started increasing, I thought shall I answer it or not? Then thought yeah cos wanna see who it is! It was an automated talking message at first saying 'we are calling from royal bank of scotland for a message for ***** please press any key.' So i did, the hang up one :rotfl:
Must of got my DMP notification letter but is it always that nerve racking?? It felt awful, dunno what was so scared of!!Just a mum trying to make things happen!0 -
I had similar experience today - i saw the 0845... on the phone and answered it and while the poor lady from Indian call centre was trying to pronounce my name I interrupted her and said that I had spoken to cccs and they would hear from them soon. She just said ok as if she'd been told that 1000 times already today and said goodbye. fab.
Only problem was that was followed by nasty Newman & Co DCA for Amex who are horrible. I said the same thing and he just said that he would instigate court action immediately then... I said OK and hung up. Depressed again...
On positive front, i will ring cccs later on to tell them that i now have £150 surplus on my budget so i can do a dmp rather than send letters myself... having said that I wonder if, for speed, i send the template letters myself today.
Anyone got any advice. cccs dmp or cccs template letters myself?
ThanksLou0 -
I would send a token payment to put your mind at rest and call CCCS. I do do my own DMP but if you can get someone to do it for you for free then why not?
Saying that I am a control freak who likes to know exactly what is going on, so a self run DMP is better for me I wouldn't sleep trusting others.0 -

Thanks for that, i would like to pass all the paperwork to someone else like the cccs, but if they're going to accept a similar proposal to them I could do it myself and keep an eye on it.
Are you still subject to the same 6 monthly reviews?Lou0 -
Bum! have just had this email from Coop
"Thank you for your recent application for a Current Account. Unfortunately, after careful consideration we are unable to open the account you requested.
Our decision is based on information provided by Experian, our credit reference agency."
Hopefully Natwest will help me as I applied there too.
Just getting worried that my only account will be Lloyds whilst I have a couple of debts with their newly-merged partner HBOS. If they had a right to just take my money and pay off their debt, I would panic - although I appreciate this merger may not happen for a while yet, this is a long term worry...
Help!Lou0 -

Don't panic - they will send you a letter and enclose an application form for a basic bank account with visa electron card but no cheque book
That's what happened to me - filled it out, posted it off and all is set upworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Newlywed, you're a star! Thank you, can you pay for the same stuff with an electron card as a debit card?
I've gone back to university part-time and I'm gutted that I won't benefit from all the trimmings you get with a student account... They get money thrown at them from everywhere. Actually, it's probably best that I can't have one of those...Lou0 -

I think that some online supermarkets don't accept electron
OH had an electron card and I can't remember him having any issues in shops - just a few online sites.
I've not had it long as I set it up because of worries about the Santander group getting my wages from my A&L account to pay debt to GE Money (not happened yet). Only really used it to pay in and withdraw cash so far...

louloujs,
Give co-op a call, they may well be able to set your mind at rest over the phone. I opened a cashminder account and have been happily shopping with my electron card ever since!
