Hi everyone,
Just had a quick scan through recent pages. I'm a great believer in complaining about anyone with a Consumer Credit Licence who doesnt stick to the rules when it is the Debtor who need the protection offered.
So if you are having probs such as automated diallers being used for debt chasing calls ( those 'dead' ones, the dialler calls a load at the same time and will select the first to answer ) take a look on oft.gov.uk and check out your rights.....then Complain, its free and anonymous.

No it's an either/or thing. The phone interview is basically to go through all the info you typed into the debt remedy so it's the same thing
Thank youGod I love how I can just get answers from people on here! Takes away so much doubt and worry!!

Hi all!
Just thought I'd post a quick update!
Made my first payment 1st October and curiously my calls have all but disappeared. The few I am getting end quickly as they are quite happy when I re-iterate that I'm on a dmp and they should get a payment on the 25th.
HSBC loan made me chuckle - (I hav 4 debts with HSBC, 2 O/D, Loan (hefty) and CCad). The card as defaulted and recently moved to CapQuest who are much nicer to deal with. The woman who rang re the Loan didnt know what a dmp was, then "magically" found the paperwork, asked me if I could get another job (poke off), than asked if I could add the £5 I was paying to the credit card to the loan as the card is now capquest not HSBC. Ummm no lol, don't have another fiver my dear. Other than the odd "Last arning" letter its all quiet on the western front.
Barclays have accepted the dmp payment and reduced interest to 0.5% (yay!) but have heard nothing from other creditors either way and neither has cccs so its a case ten of aiting until they recieve their first payments and seing what happend then. all good clean fun!
We are still carless but have been able to borrow a car fo £50 a month for this month, and again for next while we try and scrape together enough to buy something else! At least we have one though because no car, no work lol!
A little in limbo with it all but if they arent bothering me - Im happy!
Update! Capquest (HSBC Mastercard) have accepted my DMP and frozen all interest and charges. Two down 14 to go lolMSE-ing since 20070 -
Hey Guys...Just had letter from MBNA saying freezing all interest, 0% for 12 months, accepted £5 a month!!!! so I am very pleasantly surprised. They havn't even had their first payment cos it doesnt go out till nov 25th!!!!
They did warn me that it will show on my credit file as payment arrangement...I don't care
How lovely is that? wahey....keep the faith you lot....3 down 11 to go
xxLife is full of lessons...wish I had been awake in the one entitled 'Do you really need that stuff?'

Evening everyone!
Can I be really cheeky and ask if anyone knows of a template letter to send out with my CCCS form and token payment to each creditor, saying that I won't discuss the situation on the phone and please put everything in writing?! I have no idea what my legal rights are in relation to this or if there is any legislation or law I can quote that they have to abide by!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Hi Skint,
Ras and Fermi have provided a brilliant letter template and some links with further legal info on this thread (4th post): http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=13318793&highlight=fermi%2C+phone+letters#post13318793
Hope that helps...

Hi all and a big welcome to all the newcomers. Everything pretty quiet at this end, all phone calls stopped and no letters now for 2 months. Just looking for a bit of advise with Lloyds. After lots of hassle and default notices etc, finally recieved a letter from then saying they accept my repayment proposal for a period of 6 mths after which they will review. I then recieve another letter saying they have increased my planned overdraft limit and will charge me x amt of interest which amts to more than my monthly payment ! Where do i go from here, should i send them a letter im not sure what to say? Any help much appreciated.0

Morning!! I think today is one of the blue 'down' days.
Feeling incredible bad for only sending each creditor a £1. We start our DMP nov 1st so need to save all the money for that but now just worrying they are gunna look at my token payment and think 'what good is this blumming £1!!' And wind them up and send a bailiff round or something drastic. Was dreaming about bailiffs last night as well so thats probably why lol.
Knew my big brave attitude wouldnt last. Hey well, might feel better after a cuppa.
* wanders off wondering if its too early for a little nibble of chocolate to go with it*
