Feeling incredible bad for only sending each creditor a £1. We start our DMP nov 1st so need to save all the money for that but now just worrying they are gunna look at my token payment and think 'what good is this blumming £1!!' And wind them up and send a bailiff round or something drastic. Was dreaming about bailiffs last night as well so thats probably why lol.
Knew my big brave attitude wouldnt last. Hey well, might feel better after a cuppa.

Don't worry about bailiffs. They won't be sent round just cos you sent off token payments. In fact they won't be sent round at all.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -

Please don't worry about the £1 - its what it says a token payment - its shows your are being responsible and are in the precess of sorting out the best solution for you
re your brave attitude - you will soon get it back - just remember your not alone in this - there are thousands of people in exactly the same boat - on this thread we ALL have big debts and we are ALL sorting them out and not ignoring or running away from the problem - allot of people put 'proud to be dealing with my debts' in their signature - even though its not in mine i still feel it!!!
Keep you chin up and if you ever need a hug come on here, there loads of us that are available for hug or even a group hug
one more thing........................its never too early for a chocolate biscuit0 -
I am like you MummyOnAMission I function well in the day then when night comes all the stuff I "cope" with swims round and disturbs my sleep and blows up out of all proportions and of course you can't control dreams!
It is just a token and it seems nothing on the amounts you owe but it shows you are serious, shows you are taking steps to sort things out and keeps in contact with them. Companies get nasty when they think no one is listening they are big attention seekers really so by sending that £1 you are saying "yeah you exist and are being dealt with" - with a ps in my time!
I order you to get chocolate now ;P Caus I am a bossy cow!0 -
In fact you MUST eat chocolate, cos chocolate is a vegetable, right, and we're supposed to be eating more vegetables? Chocolate comes from cocoa beans, beans are a vegetable (legumes), therefore ... you must eat more chocolate!
Slightly freaking out myself here this morning after getting a letter from Lloyds telling me that as I'm over my overdraft limit they're now charging me £15 a DAY for the pleasure up to a maximum of 10 charges a month ... ie, £150 a month extra! ... plus £15 a month for having an unauthorised overdraft. Given that my salary is now no longer going into that account, it's going to be staying over the overdraft limit ... which means my debt with them is going to increase by £165 a month, every month! Actually no, more, they say in the letter that if the situation continues (it will, it will) then the charges will be increased!
And all this is *before* the DMP is set up with them ... aaarrrggghhh ... I can see my debt to Lloyds going to the grave with me!
Oh well. Must find some vegetables to eat ...

Try not to worry you can reclaim all the charges back. I would however write to them saying you are started your DMP soon and will be including your overdraft and arranging a payment plan with them. Ask them to freeze interest. Then later on when you negoitiate all those charges back you can tell them you did warn them!0

Hi
M on a M - i had those thoughts last night after making first contact with cccs. had my first interview today and he was so lovely. However, i have a deficit at the end of each month so i can't do a dmp yet but can send the letters out with £1 postal order (not cheque so they don't send it back).
However, I want to do the dmp so I'm going to try and reduce my outgoings where possible so that i can pay them each month.
I just want the cccs to take it all away from me, i don't want to deal with these people myself. Wimp I know but they have sapped all my energy - and my money.
The bottom line is I know that I have the debt because i used the cards (after OH's income dried up 1 year ago - bad time to be a finance broker) and I'm happy to pay it back - but I object to horrendous interest, charges and aggressive phone calls.
Anyway, he advised me to cut back where I can, ring him back next week if I can get into a positive situation with my income to offer a monthly payment for a dmp. That's what I'm going to have to do.
Anyone have a comment about how doing the token payment letter compares with the cccs dmp?
You are all lovely people!Lou0 -

Hi there, Im not sure how it compares just sending token payments instead of DMP setting up, but just wanted to shout a cheer u up hello and hope it all goes ok for you. It doesnt feel nice at this stage I know. Have you put your SOA up for every one to try cut your costs for you? Could do that then have a look yourself as well. It will be worth it once up on ur DMP. Yes the CCCS peeps are great i agree, so understanding.
Well hope someone else out there can help you. Try have a nice weekend.

My letter and Notice of Debt Management Plan from CCCS has actually already gone to them, they would have received it just yesterday so it must have crossed in the post with the snottygram they sent me.
Question though - do we have to actually ask each of our creditors to freeze interest ourselves? Isn't this something CCCS does in its negotiations with our creditors?

Would Letter C from here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-debt-issues/20758-creditors-dcas-letter-templates.html help??
You have to sign up for the CAG forums website to view these, but it's a free registration (and a very worthwhile one if you ask me, it's a great site!) ...
