Hi Emily, Lloyds are one creditor which can be a bit of a pain. Keep a log of what you've paid off and how much charges they add on. Then should the Bank Charges case sort itself out (funny how they've not mentioned that in the media for a while...), you can claim them all back.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Thanks Gemmzie. I will keep on ignoring their calls then and wait for them to default me. Just glad that they can't get their hands on any of my money anymore.

Hi all today I have had two letters from RBS one regarding the credit card and one regarding the Mint card saying as i ignored the default notice they are now demanding full payment of my account within the next 14 days.
Ha ha they should be so lucky!
They said they are not stopping interest and have made no mention of the DMP and whether they are accepting it or not.
Wondered whether they were just computer generated letters or should I write again asking them to freeze interest, or is that just another waste of a stamp!DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
Hi All
Haven’t been on for a while, actually managed to get a bit of overtime from work and a trip down to Cornwall for a few days, lovely.
Just thought I’d update how the new DMP is going, and who is saying what.
1st Payment made to CCCS on 1st Oct by bank transfer, arrived at CCCS on 8th Oct, that was a bit worrying as they say 5 to 7 working days, but it got there so all is good, as for my creditors well..........
AA personal Finance – Letter received from Blair, Oliver and Scott Solicitors stating client Bank of Scotland, but the account number refers to my AA loan! They are now administering the account and payments should continue in the normal way, any payment schedules agreed with Bank of Scotland will be honoured, not a nasty letter at all and I’m assuming that they have accepted DMP, copy sent to CCCS and no response sent by me.
Direct Line – Many letters sent asking me to call them, many letters returned by me advising that I don’t do calls and everything in writing please, back and forward we go.
Egg – Default notice served, nothing more heard
GE Capital Finance – Nothing heard at all, very strange
Capital One – Default notice served, nothing more heard, though they still keep sending me credit card cheques, which I think is funny
Barclayloan – After taking money from my current account, which should have been closed, I wrote to them in disgust, nothing heard yet.
Barclay’s current account – Letter saying they are waiting for contact from CCCS and cannot freeze interest on overdraft.
Barclaycard – DMP accepted, letter written to confirm that payments will be made by CCCS 3 days after the day they wanted, and not to charge me for this. Interest reduced to 6% on all outstanding money (which is better than the 27.9% I was paying on some of the cash).
Tesco Personal Finance – Letter from them saying they have accepted the DMP, all good I thought, then received a nasty letter from Triton Credit Services saying they were collecting on behalf of Tesco’s and they required full and immediate payment or the bailiff’s were coming round, sent them and Tesco’s some strongly worded letters with copies of the correspondence agreeing to the DMP, and told them to get their act together.
So all in all not to bad really, had to write a few letters and keep CCCS up to date, but so far so good really.
No if I can just get my new bank to sort out direct debits everything would be cool, but that’s another story!
Take care everyone, and keep smiling

When I got the Mint default I wrote to say you've had my offer of payment (which the default letter said they needed) and that CCCS had worked out payments that were fair to all my creditors.
They don't reply to anything. I even wrote three times to ask them to change my name on my loan account and asked them to confirm it was done and they never replied ever
After I got the default on the credit card, they stopped interest and charges and haven't done a single thing since (other than take my DMP payments)working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

That's really useful feedback, thanks. But a bit scary as I have a Tesco card and I'm worried now!!! :eek:DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Don't panic. They can't send a bailiff round until they get a CCJ against you and you don't pay the CCJ
It sounds like they are all talk (and trying to scare people into paying)working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
at_my_wittsend - There's no obligation to increase payments after six months, you can just tell them that your situation hasn't changed. We haven't increased for the last year because everything has gone up so much.
Re: benefits - as far as I know, it's not applicable to all benefits so please make sure before persuing this an an option. I know it applies to Income Support, Incapacity Benefit and Job Seekers Allowance (although I'm not sure about contribution base). But I don't think that it applies to Tax Credits and I'm pretty sure it does not apply to Child Benefit or Disability Living Allowance (as these aren't means tested).
Can anyone else throw a little more light on the situation re: banks arresting tax credits and child benefit? Been looking a bit online but to be honest, some of the legal jargon is just a bit confusing! Dp found that the Scottish Law Commission and Scottish Executive concede that tax credits and social security benefits are exempt from arrestment in terms of section 187 of the social security administration act 1992 and section 45 of the tax credits act 2002. I've got a sore head just writing that lol! I can see that we maybe won't be entitled to chb back but tax credits??
Sorry for the ramble and the fact that it has strayed from the subject of dmps but any help would be great. Just hope I haven't written to them in vain...Starting DMP with CCCS 1st October 2008

Thanks for that, I was thinking of a similar letter, and asking them again to stop or reduce interest but think its probably pointless, like you say they just ignore you anyway.
On the upside I had a letter from HFC bank(Marbles) today to say they were in contact with CCCS and they would deal directly with them in future, they even said sorry you are experiencing financial difficulties we understand this must be a difficult time!
Amazing the different response you get from each creditor and how they respond in one way to one person and in a completely different way to another.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -

I thought since they'd written to me, I would make them do a bit of work by writing back to them - make someone open the letter, read it, file it etcThey were still charging huge interest at the time so I was a bit stroppy
