  • I'm in the process of deciding whether to go onto a DMP. I'm thinking it's right for me as I can't cover my payments/charges each month and things are just spiralling downwards :(

I've read no end of posts on here but it still scares me! Think I just need to take the plunge and do it now!

Hi all, very confused by First Direct. Having not signed their Loan agreement, they then wrote to say that the interest would change to 15%.

But my latest statement shows interest to be charged next month as still the same 6% - not complaining though ;)

It is a bit scary. Have you spoken to Payplan or CCCS or done the online CCCS debt remedy which will tell you if your circumstances are right for a DMP and if it will help you?

As soon as I actually committed to the DMP I felt like a huge weight lifting off me. To know that there is someone out there to help you was such a relief. But actually admitting you need help and can't sort it out on your own is quite a big scary step ;)

  • not enjoying life at the mo guys.

currently waiting to hear from cccs about not being able to make the first payment that was due last week (679pds) i email queries in and i just get told "passed to another dept" email this morning now says passed to cccs in scotland.

i get the feeling of doom coming. the next payment is on 1st nov. just expecting the worse like being dropped off the dmp because the bank blocking our account left us being unable to make the first payment.

    Hi Debtmuncher,

I'm almost 99% +ive you will be able to carry on with the DMP. When you get through to someone I'm sure they'll understand what has happened.

    Don't worry yet.

    Hi Newlywed,

I've had this letter too. I think it means that their standard APR has increased but it doesn't affect our DMPs .

Thanks. I got it a week after the letter saying "we are deeply concerned that we haven't received your loan agreement" so assumed it was part of the scare you into signing tactics ;)

Hi all, haven't checked in here for a while as it's been quiet on the DMP front. However, we've just received an annual review form from Mint so they'll be getting one for six months, there's no way we can do a year review now (as I've told them before) - it needs to be done in April!

Also, Halifax have FINALLY defaulted us after ten months of their hideous charges, so they should now pass us over to their DCA. First thing to do there is save for a F&F minus the charges and start making offers next year.

I've filled it in, but only as a rough guide and it said a DMP may help. It's just filling in the main thing and all my details I'm scared of, but I don't know why, because once i've done it i'll feel much better!!
