Hi everyone, just been reading through everyones posts from today, interesting whats been said about being contacted all the time by your creditors, I was originally avoiding the phone, in fact most of time i had it unplugged! eventually I plucked up the courage to start answering and now its all died down and my DMP only started on 1 oct so my creditors wont have even recieved there first payment yet.
I just asked everyone to only contact me by letter from now on and it seems to have worked, so maybe thats a bit of encouragement for everyone scared to answer the phone.:j
Oh God I've probably put a jinx on it now the phone will be ringing off the hook tomorrow!
I also abandoned my original bank account to its own devices, as others have said I'll be trying to claim the charges back once everything is up and running anyway.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
Just be strong Bluecandy and keep repeating that you are on a DMP with CCCS. How long have you been on your DMP? It will take a couple of months until your creditors all get the message! Then it should settle down. Is the money they are asking for just the overdraft? If this was included in your DMP then they will just have to lump it! Did they get a copy of your SOA to show how much you can pay back?
I would generally also try to avoid talking to them on the phone. I keep requesting that my creditors write to me instead. Just don't let them bully you into paying any more and don't let them intimidate you.
Sx
DMP has started on the 1st Sept so ive only made 2 payments but they think, after me explaining to them twice, that the reduced payments are for only 6 months, thats for the overdraft and the loan i have with them. I have explained that the letter i sent them and the contact that CCCS has made with them that it will be ongoing for approx 2 years.
I will phone CCCS and ask them to phone Lloyds to re-iterate this once again.
Also, as hard as it is for me to see light at the end of the tunnel as my debt is huge for me, i feel a little relieved after reading how much you guys are in debt and how long your DMP's are for...no offence of course. But 2 years compared to what some of you have said is a phenomenal amount of difference.
Shocked but i also have to admire you guys too.0 -
HeHe bluecandy...yes you are amongst the hardened DMPers in here...lol
Mine is 10 YEARS eek!!!!!!
But I do hope to have it sorted well before then, I wanted to just mention in reference to Kudox, since I been answering the phone and being truthful, the calls have really quietened down, so I think there is some truth in the fact that if you let the creditors know the score, they mark your account and stop ringing certainly for the short term! Of course they havn't all realised I ain't paying them yet...heeheehee
xxLife is full of lessons...wish I had been awake in the one entitled 'Do you really need that stuff?'

Morning! It feels like its was ages since I was last in this thread will try to catch up.
Had a really hectic first week at work last week. On my first day we got a call to say OFSTED would be in Thursday and Friday. Then I broke a tooth Thursday and yesterday I discovered it would cost £500 so my head is swimming.
Oh and somewhere inbetween was without a computer due to a trojan and it had to be rebuilt so lost all my helpful links etc - have to do more research again!0 -
Morning all! So was wondering, how do they (CCCS) decide on the amount they give everyone? Is it pro-rata? I was sat there last nite with nothing better to do, so worked out what they mite get with wot i think we will pay CCCS, and some of the credit card peeps will get more than the min payment we were paying before, then the others were only getting 20/30 pounds less than the min payment. I might have worked it out wrong though it was late and i was watching tv at the same time! (i can multitask normally though
)

It is pro-rata but what I can never remember is if its pro-rata on what you owe or the contractual amounts which does make a difference!0

Ah rite I see, cheers for that!Just a mum trying to make things happen!0

Finally had a statutory default notice for my HSBC loan, so at least that's a small step forward on them getting it to a DCA and maybe freezing the debt seeing as they refuse to deal with CCCS.
I have to stop letting standard letters bug me though! It really gets my goat when they say things like have not made payments/have ignored all correspondance/should get advice from CCCS if struggling etc
I feel like shouting from rooftops "I told you before I actually started being in difficulties, I have tried to arrange payments with you and failed and I have gone and got advice and I am on a CCCS DMP and you have refused their payments too! so I am not just ignoring the problem like you imply!!!!"
My DS won a Wii which turned up yesterday (totally over the moon with it btw as never would have seen one by my own or family means), I think I shall rename the characters in the Wii Sport boxing to HSBC and go pummel on them for a while as he is in school and cant laugh at me jumping around like a numpty :rolleyes:0 -

hi - CCCS pro rata your payments based on how much you pay each month and payplan pro rata based on the total you owe
i know the CCCS method caused issues with some with Northern Rock mortgages with add on loans attached to the mortgage- quite what the problem was im not sure - i think CCCS insisted the loan part was seperate to the mortgage and thereofre the monthly payments to Northern Rock was reduced which in effect reduced the total monthly amount paid to Northern Rock, who treated it as non payment of the mortgage - hope this makes sense but im sure someone with a better explanation will be along soon
hope this helps0 -
Thankyou for your help!!Just a mum trying to make things happen!0
